i applied online on Sept 18, 2016. Having positive vibes. Sept 12 applicant got Passport request. You should be next in line. All the best

My father has received the passport request yesterday. Thank you all for your wishes. I have a quick question. Will collection of passport from VFS is faster or by courier? And does the courier start from visa office or the vfs guys collect them and then put them in courier? Please help with your replies. I need to book the ticket but would not know when the passport would be received. he will be submitting the passport tomorrow.

Typically, Blue Dart will deliver the passport the next day after collecting it from VFS.

The visa office has an internal process to transmit the passports to the VFS..... VFS then despatches the passports through Blue Dart

Sorry to probe further. Will the passport travel to VFS office where submitted and then dispatched through blue dart?

That's an internal passport transmission between the Bangalore consulate and VFS Bangalore. So passports will arrive at VFS Bangalore (from the visa office) around 3pm..... then despatched to VFS Hyd for self-collection at VFS Hyd the next day

Or if you opt for courier then the passport will be delivered to your residence in Hyderabad the next day

Hi ..we applied for our mother Canada visitor visa from Canada online in Sept and just received passport submission request mail from cic ..just wanted to check where my mother need to submit her passport for visa stamp as she stay in delhi .. should we need to submit her passport in canada or in delhi as stay in delhi ..

She must submit it to the Delhi VAC/VFS

About 5-7 days..... also consider weekends and holidays for Dussera

Hello,

Looks like the Sep third week's online applications are getting processed. Caveat: Have US visa and previous travel to the US over the last 10 years.

Applied online in India: Sep 18, 2016
Passport Request: Oct 7, 2016

Does anyone know if I can submit passport for stamping is US? I am traveling to the US first and my travel date is only about a week away, so don't want to risk my passport getting stuck in the consulate in India.

Yes, you can submit your passport in the US. You'll have to write to the NY/LA visa office first.

Do keep in mind the time for passport transmission + time required for visa stamping before you submit your passport

If I take the option of submitting in Bangalore, I will have to do it in person on the 10th, the earliest working day and hope the Visa office there can return stamped passport in 5 days for pickup. Otherwise, I have to check with LA Visa office as you suggested.

You can write to both the Bangalore and NY/LA visa offices for this.

Many people have recently had their passports stamped while in a different country

There is no guarantee of a 5-day return.

I would not risk going through this option as it is too close to your travel date + do remember that the VAC and the visa office do NOT work on weekends and Dussera

You can send an email to the Bangalore VO + check with VAC on Monday.... if it's still possible. Do include copies of your flight tickets
