So, my dad is coming to visit for Christmas and I have asked him to bring a Christmas pudding with him (M&S of course!). However, my evil step-mother has apparently called the airline and has been told he can't bring it. >:(

Anyone know if she's right???

Phone Canada food inspection agency and ask.

FWIW you can buy M&S Christmas pudding in Ottawa - but they are expensive :)

Thanks! I posted one to my sister last year without problem, and it was listed on the customs declaration thingy so I don't see why it would be an issue.
I'll give them a call....or get my fiancé to call his colleague in Ottawa!!!

I brought dog food with me. The border guard told me go to the agriculture counter but then the guy didn't even check it!

And then last time I brought moon cakes with me. No problems. :D

What's moon cake???

Typical mooncakes are round or rectangular pastries, measuring about 10 cm in diameter and 4–5 cm thick. A rich thick filling usually made from red bean or lotus seed paste is surrounded by a relatively thin (2–3 mm) crust and may contain yolks from salted duck eggs.

Oh ok, it sounded very illegal !! ;)

Very illegal?? It's not. The border officer told me she likes moon cakes.

I'm gonna have to find some!!

We have some friends coming to visit next month so she has a shopping list of stuff to bring with her. The only thing she can't bring is Robinsons Fruit & Barley squash because it's so heavy :(
