Visitor Visa(Tourism) | New Ircc portal | Applied on 31st August 2021 | Biometrics on 15th September 2021

I applied for visitor visa for tourism on 31st August 2021 and completed my biometrics on 15th September. My plan was to travel to Canada during my USA trip. Moreover, I applied for a visitor visa on February 2022 for Australia and got it within a month. Now, I’m in USA and I’m still waiting for a decision.

Applied from Bangladesh on new IRCC portal.

Can anyone please suggest what should I do? Should I reapply from Bangladesh or USA? Or should I just wait?

ircc had asked to reapply to those who applied before 7th september 2021…from the posts in this forum i haven’t come across anyone’s application in aug 2021 getting decisions recently

Thanks for your reply. I emailed a withdrawal request. I’ll reapply within a month whether I get a withdrawal confirmation email or not.

when you reapply, old application is seen automatically withdrawn when they start processing the new one if you give the uci number in the new application

Yes, I realized that while trying to reapply (just to check out if they ask or not). Basically, I’m being very optimistic and I’m hoping my withdrawal request is rejected and I get a passport request instead. Right at the end, I explained how my profile got even stronger and I have attached evidence along with it. I know I’m just being very optimistic but I’m trying everything so that I don’t have to reapply.
