Hello,

Has anyone applied for a visitor visa extension just before their PGWP expired? If so, how much money was declared and for how long the visa was requested/granted? Any feedback would be deeply appreciated.

Thanks!

I'm planning to apply for the visitor visa too, since mine is also expiring soon. There is no exact numbering for funds, but just to be on the safe side, keep $5000 to $7000 CAD in your chequing account.

Thanks. That should not be a problem. What other documents/explanation you are providing? Are you waiting for an ITA?

Exactly 2 years ago I was in this same predicament. I was successfully granted a visitor visa after stating that I needed time to tie up loose ends. I followed the general rule of thumb, which was to declare about 1000 for each week you are requesting. In my case it wasn't a problem as CIC knew that I had been working in Cda, and therefore had easy access to finances. If this applies to you too, there shouldn't be a problem.

Thread I found regarding the topic : http://www.canadavisa.com/canada-immigration-discussion-board/pgwp-expiring-in-august-2016-apply-for-study-permit-again-t427999.0.html

Cheers ;)

How long was your visitor visa granted for?

Thanks DelPiero07! I will think about the +1 ;)

Go for it, dude. We have as much info at our fingertips as you do. You could always call CIC.

I am in a different situation ... if some body can help / guide...

I didn't got TRV of the same timeline as of my work permit. I applied it 2 months back and haven't got PP request yet.

Called CIC and submitted case specific inquiry they said my application is in secondary review and they cannot give me any processing time.

Any suggestion except to wait ?

One month because that's when my passport was expiring. I renewed my passport and then applied for an extension of my visitor visa. Got 5 mths the second time around, so altogether 6 mths visitor visa
