I am a canadian citizen married to an italian. I normally live in Italy but was brought back to Canada due to my fathers serious health problems. We (my husband, I , and two daughters) came on Aug 30 planning to stay only 4-5 months until the new year. Unfortunately complications with my father have delayed our return to Europe. I have bben working since Oct to support us while we are here. My husband s 6 months are almost up and we just realized we will need to stay in Canada until mid-May in order to deal with problems aurrounding my fathers illness. Does my usband need to reapply for visitor visa? He is not working. We will for sure be leaving in May and so have no intention of applying for resident/citizenship for him. Is being married to me(a Can cit) enough to allow him to stay hasselfree for another3 months?
While I am here...
My youngest daughter has yet to recceive her citizenship card. Can I still ask for Child Tax and provincial health care on her behalf? Is a translated italian birth certificate listing me as the mother enough? (My oldest daughter HAS a CAN cit certificate).
When I file my taxes (seeing as I am currently working), how do I list my husband? He obviously has no SIN...
We have valid passports, bank accounts (in both countries), and I am working, but , I repeat, we are DEFINATELY leaving in May....
Thanks to anyone that can help!
