Hi. I am an US citizen. My boyfriend is a Lebanese citizen who is a resident of the United States. We are trying to go to Montreal for the Jazz Festival. Our trip starts on June 30.

He applied for his visa on April 11. We are still waiting to hear back. He applied online. Any thoughts from any of you? We really want to make this trip and really have no idea if it is going to be possible.

Unfortunately visa offices are being affected by a strike at this time:

So it's anyone's guess if you will have the visa in time.

Is he a Permanent Resident of the United States? If he is and traveling directly to Canada from the United States, he does not need a visa and all normal condition exists i.e. intent to leave after visit etc.

I do not know what the qualification for a Permanent Resident is, but that is his intention. He is in the middle of his green card process now, owns a house in the states, and doesn't plan on returning to live in Lebanon. His current visa is an H1B.

Approved on June 21. Passport Over night mailed on June 21. Train leaves June 30. Will we get it in time?

which visa office did you applied?. i hope it will reach your home within 5 business days.

Today is the last day the visa could arrive here at our house. If not our vacation is canceled and we lost a lot of money and missed the jazz festival.
