Moms passport request came in today.. now waiting for dads..

Time line for my parents application as immediate family member of PR holder.
25nov online application
26nov biometrics taken
10dec biometrics completed
7feb approval and passport request only for mom and waiting for dad now..

Hi, just like most of the members in the group, I am planning to call my parents to Canada to help me during and after my pregnancy. I am due in the month of June'21. My parents will be showing their financial credentials to prove that they will be travelling at their own expense, and the entire trip will be sponsored by them. My father is a retired government official, and my mother is a housewife. what documents do they have to add to form a strong application, and what will be wiser, applying from India or do I apply for them from Canada?

Hi, I have applied Date as 1st March 2021 and I have also emailed my PHAC Approval and got response from IRCC in a day. All the good success

Hey, what do you mean with "applied date as 1st March 2021"? Is this the date which you mentioned for your in-law's arrival? Also, when you mentioned that you got PHAC approval with 6 months validity, did they write specifically that the approval is valid for 180 days/6months and has an expiry date on it? You were waiting for your FIL's invite. Have you received it and any movement for the rest of the application?

Thanks, i totally agree with you. I have already provided a qurantine plan for full 14 days. She will be staying in a separate room in my apartment which has a balcony and bathroom attached. I will just provide her with food and basic needs by maintaining proper distance.

Also i think due to pandemic they considering pregnancy in H&C otherwise they do not consider this reason.

I had applied for my parents visa in July 2020 , I got biometric letter but biometric has not done yet due to VFS closer. I need my parents support immediately for my wife's postpartum care. I really appreciate your help if you can provide information ASAP.

Can you please guide how did you started PHAC approval for your parents visit to canada .?

1. Yes, my in-law gave biometrics in Dubai
2. Steps

1. Applied
2. completed Biometrics in DUBAI
3. Applied for PHAC approval (got approved in 1 day)
4. CIC asked for travel itinerary
5. After 2 days CIC approved and Sent single entry TRV visa/letter in CIC account (no need to send passport with PHAC process)

Note: As I mentioned earlier CIC is processing some TRV applications without Biometrics (Applicable only with PHAC process)

On CIC profile, it updated very same day within 10 minutes. But got the official validation letter on Dec 23rd.

Folks , This will really surprise me !! My friend has got Visitor Visa with 20 days without PHAC letter ..

Biometrics completed: December 17th (Dubai)
Passport Request: Dec 31st 2020

Got my mother visitor visa approved for 3 months. Thank you @sb0821 for introducing PHAC Letter information to ppl like us who were hopeless to get the parent visa results so soon.

Hi, yes I mentioned 1st March as arrival date and got PHAC approval 6months validity from date of approval. Yes I sent them an email that my FIL completed biometrics and ircc sent passport submission request for him as well in 2 days.. so now waiting for stamping for both of them ..

Anybody's parents visitor visa application approved during COVID with no compelling reasons such as pregnancy or sick?

I recently got PR and want my mom to visit me because I haven't seen her in 4 years. She will be coming for more than 15 days.

Have you yourself or you have you read somewhere that some got visitor visa without really compelling reasons? Although her application otherwise is strong proof of funds and ties to country.

Really appreciate any response.

I have recently filed for parent's visitor visa, however its just stuck at Biometrics, which God knows better when will open.

No i dint.. i applied normally.. just sent email twice to ircc that parents havent seen my sister for more than 2yrs and she just delivered last dec..

Just a clarification, you emailed to IRCC.COVID-TravelExemptions-Exemptionsdevoyage-COVID.IRCC@cic.gc.ca but didn't put reason as Other - Covid?
