Curious

Has anyone received PPR for a visitor visa from India after they started passport submissions earlier this week? I received 2 back to back Biometrics Validity Letter (Correspondence) on June 10, which usually means a decision has been made, but dont know the decision since they were withholding them due to the lockdown in India.
Haven't seen anyone receiving PPR recently for visitor visa. Some of us have received Biometrics Validity Letter but still haven't heard back anything after that.

Hi
I have raised a webform on 30th May to prioritize visit visa application for my parents( Have attached Phac approval letter as well).
I havnt recieved passport request yet nor any reply.
There is no change in the account activity.
Please let me know those who have gone through the process, should I raise a webform again or email ircc for Exemption.
I'm really confused and worried as what can be done, my parents were planing to fly mid July.
Its been more than 20 days no update yet :(
Any advise will be helpful.
Same here :(

My in-laws submitted Biometrics at a VAC in India earlier this week. The application status in their IRCC account now shows Biometrics completed. They've also filled out IRCC's travel exemption enquiry web form to get their application prioritized. What now? Do they need to do anything else from their end? Or simply play the waiting game now?

Hello
I read your post and as per my understanding, your in laws got biometric done in India for visitor visa application !!!
I am going to apply for my parents visitor visa latest by tomorrow as I have all necessary documents ready including PHAL approval letter, But when we called VFS and asked if they’re providing biometric services for visitor visa as well, they denied

Well it does say they have opened for all categories of visas:

From 28 June 2021, Canada visa customers will be able to book appointments to enrol biometrics for all visa categories. Visit <AMS link> to book your appointment. Please note, prior appointments are mandatory to visit the Visa Application Centres. Link: https://visa.vfsglobal.com/ind/en/can/covid-19-updates

Thank you for the reply
If your in-laws had biometrics done in India already , means I was misguided

You need the application number and the biometric request letter to book for a biometric appointment. So you can do it only after you submit the application.

Another update! My mother's super visa was approved today. Here's the overall timeline:

Application submitted: Jan 8th
Biometrics requested: Jan 10th
Biometric completed (At Nepal): 15th Feb
Mail sent to IRCC for faster processing: Mar 7th
Medicals Requested: Mar 16th
Medicals Done in Mumbai: Mar 22nd
Medicals Passed: Mar 31st
Passport Request: April 6th

Prior to this my mother in law's visitor visa was approved in mid March, and although VFS India is doing a botched up job of the 2 way couriers, it somehow works and her passport is currently with the Chandigarh office for stamping.
Hi..

Congrats in the super visa approval.

Could you tell me if you provided any financials for your mom-in-law or just yours? Also, is there anything different that you included in the application except what's mentioned in the checklist? Did you have to prove any strong ties for home?
I have single mother with savings approx upto $4000 CAD in bank account and FDs. Wondering if that's sufficient?

Thanks!

Thank you for you response
I’ve submitted the application already
Hoping all goes as planned and they can be here as soon as possible as my expected date of delivery if in early October.
And well all the best to you all for parents’ applications
Yeah, as @rower said, Biometrics services have now resumed for all visa categories. My in-laws booked their appointment online (through this link) and were able to go to the VAC and submit Biometrics.

Hi All.

My wife and I are PR's currently residing in Canada. We are expecting our first child early next year (Feb'22). I wish to apply for my parents travel visa (regular - NOT Supervisa) so they can come visit before/ after delivery.

IMPORTANT: My parents visa had been rejected in Jan 2020. reason given - we do not think that you will go back to your country after the duration of your visit. Long story short, we had used help of a travel agency back home in India to do the application for visa and I feel they screwed up big time as despite showing good funds and assets back home, still the visa was rejected. I feel it was because the purpose and some important details were not provided correctly. My parents had filled the form by hand at that time. They had even given Biometrics which as per IRCC site are valid for 10 years

I have some specific questions about the application.

1) for Form 5257 - Purpose of Visit - Should we choose family visit? or Other and mention post partum help as reason? Ideally family visit should have sufficed but given the situation and delay in processing, maybe family visit may not suffice.

2) after online application, is there a way to expedite the application stating that we need my parents to be here to help with delivery and post birth support?

3) what is a good amount to show for "Funds available for my stay in canada" I am in a position to cover their expenses in Canada but they also have liquid savings of approx 35-40k CAD equivalent. I suppose the question being asked is how much money do you have for the purpose of your visit and stay while in canada? Should 10k be enough

4) As i mentioned above, since their visa was rejected earlier, there is a question in form 5257 background information section
- Have you been refused a visa to canad or any other country
- have you previously applied to enter or remain in canada?
I suppose my parents have to answer yes to the questions - IF yes, they need to provide details - can we use the UCI number from their prev application and mention it in the new application.

5) IRCC mentions that biometrics are valid so does it actually mean that my parents may not need to do biometrics and that will automatically reduce the time for application review and subsequent decision??

Any inputs on the above questions will be highly appreciated. Thanks in advance.
