From 5 July 2021, Canada VACs will start Passport Submission Service in a phased manner. Customers who completed their 2 way courier process prior to lock-down will be contacted by VFS Global on e-mail.

We request other customers holding Passport Submission Letter to remain patient and follow us for updates

Will IRCC start working on pending visit visa applications also?

Hi All, I am planning to apply Visitor Visa(from India) for my in laws and I have few questions, Can you please help me. Thanks in advance
  1. Can I use my IRCC online account to create applications for my in-laws?
  2. Do we need to create two different applications or single application with father-in-law as primary applicant?
  3. Any alternative for marriage certificate for my in-laws? Do we need to submit?
They need their own account. They can apply together.

Hi,

I am a permanent resident of Canada. Currently I am in India and expecting a baby in next three months. I want to apply for spouse TRV from India as I cannot travel to Canada right now. This is for the initial care/support.

Can anyone please confirm if I can apply for spouse TRV from India and if yes then under which category? What documdnts do I need to submit for this application?
You can certainly try but the chances of approval are not great so have a plan B. Given that you are not in Canada that also creates less of an argument since you are not applying to have your husband join you in Canada because you are alone and pregnant. Would also make sure you still qualify for health coverage or whether you need to reapply if you have been outside Canada for months. A valid health card does not mean you have active coverage. You will also have to remain in Canada for 6-12 months, depending on the province, or else you can be asked to pay for all the medial expenses from you and your child.

Do we need to email IRCC or raise a webform request to expedite visitor application?
If you have flagged your application as meeting the travel exemption there are no other ways to expedite your application except PHAC situations like a death, serious medical emergency, etc.

Hi,

we are in the same boat, its our first child my husband had to rejoin after 3 weeks , everything is getting ao overwhelming. I got a letter too from doctor, got travel exemption from PHAC but still ircc is not processingmy mother’s visa because vfs just opened up for biometrics and she got appointment for august end. By that time PHAC approval to enter canada will expire.

i do not know how govt of Canada have no compassion towards pregnant women and those who just delivered baby. I delivered premature baby and no one is here to help me. I have not eaten properly from days as there’s no one to cook. Living everyday with a feeling to kill myself.

if you have figured out any way can you please let me kno

Hi folks,

Me and my wife we both are permanent residents and we had our baby 3 weeks ago. Initially, we thought to bring my mother from India before the labour but we didn't pursue or submit the application at that time because of the following reasons:
  1. At that time my mother was not fully vaccinated.
  2. Mandatory hotel quarantine for travelers.
  3. Travel ban for the flights from India because of the surge in Covid cases due to the variant.
  4. Me and my wife thought we can take care of this postpartum situation without support.
But now I need to seriously consider bringing my mother from India because my wife is having serious postpartum depression issues. We thought we will be OK after delivery but everything is overwhelming for both of us because this is our first child. I was off from my work for 3 weeks but now I need to go back for my work to meet our expenses as I am the only earning person in our case. My wife really needs a support person to recover from this otherwise I don't know how can I help her. Also now my mother is fully vaccinated (2 shots) of Covishield in India and we got the certificate of vaccination.

I wanted to ask you all that what are the chances of getting a visitor visa in the PHAC route for my mother with this vaccination certificate. Ialso heard that they are going to lift that mandatory hotel quarantine. I talked to our family doctor and he is ready to give us a letter to apply for PHAC. I truly appreciate your feedback and thanks in advance.

Your husband should be helping with the cooking or buy prepared or frozen meals. If you have any friends in the community or are part of a religious or community group people are often willing to prepare a meal or make some freezer meals. Now that processing for Indian visas have restarted your mother's application will start getting processed. Canada does have compassion but needs to consider the greater good of those already in Canada and the Canadians working in India. Almost all the employees and their families would have left India as the 2nd wave hit. I would think that direct flights will resume from India either this week or in the next few weeks if couriers are starting again.

Hi, I didnt flag my application as meeting travel exemption since I applied for my parents last year. I believe there was no such option when I applied.
I really want to expedite it now. What can I do?

Hi,

I am a Canadian PR and recently got married in India in the end of April. I have been in India due to the current travel restrictions but will be flying back by this month end. I wanted to bring my wife along on a TRV since I will only be able to apply for a spousal PR once I reach Canada. I see that biometrics are open in many places and am looking for some advice based on the documents that we will need to upload for the TRV.

- I see mixed responses here with people getting approvals quickly and delays. So I feel I can take a chance.

I also see that in the IRCC account that we were required to send an invitation letter.

-This is where I am looking for some advice, What is the format for the invitation letter? I had resigned my job and travelled for my marriage so am a little unclear on what to fill in my letter as I see that we MUST include job title. Any advice for people who have already sent an Invitation letter would be great.

Hi Guys,
I am planning to apply TRV for my Parents in India. Could someone point me to a thread which shows the complete step by step process, as I am doing this for the first time.

Thanks,

Thank you. Do people who submit this get a temporary visa valid for a few days or do they get one that is valid for 10 years?
Reason I am asking is because my parent are not planning on travelling immediately. Rather they will be travelling in November so is it worth it to fill this out?

Hope so.Now the processing time has reduced this week from 418 days to 175 days. Its updated weekly.Last Tuesday it was 418 days.

TODAY:

Where are you applying from? (required)
India
Visitor visa (from outside Canada)
India

175 days

You may need to give biometrics with your application.
This processing time doesn’t include:

the time it takes to send an application between a VAC and our office
the time you need to give your biometrics
Last update: July 6, 2021 Updated weekly

Curious

Has anyone received PPR for a visitor visa from India after they started passport submissions earlier this week? I received 2 back to back Biometrics Validity Letter (Correspondence) on June 10, which usually means a decision has been made, but dont know the decision since they were withholding them due to the lockdown in India.

Hi All,

I am planning to apply for Visitor Visa for my mother and needed some advise.

My mom is widow and is living with my brother in India who is self-employed. Although she depends financially on him and has no property in her name, but she has her own bank account with savings of approx CAD 1500 and also some FDs of same amount. However the nominee of the FDs is my cousin who is about to get married and she was saving this money for her wedding. She also has approx. CAD 1800 cash with her, but I have asked her not to deposit it now as it might look suspicious considering I am about to apply in a week's time. And also because there is no proof as such to provide for the cash deposit since it's just the money she has been saving over time.

My husband and I will be taking care of all her expenses while she is here as both of us are in decent full-time jobs since more than 2 years and giving all our supporting dox. The plan is to call her for 3 weeks or so as soon as the Visa is approved. But since the TRV processing times are varying, we are not mentioning any date, just giving reason as Covid. She has already got both her shots so attaching proof of vaccination as well.

My questions are as follows:

- Can I ask her to deposit cash before she takes out the bank statement and mention in LOE that these are just her savings at home?
- Hope submitting FDs (which are in her name) will still be okay considering nominee is my cousin?
- Reg ties back home, the fact that she stays with my brother in a rented accommodation is okay? Do I need to give rent agreement?

Many thanks for your help in advance!
