Visitor Visa for wife and 2 kids

Hello all,

I am presently studying MBA in Montreal and have study permit visa. I am half way through now. Moreover, I have landed my self 2 part time jobs. One started on June 1st and the 2nd Job would be starting in last week of August. I will be earning from August monthly 1100 CAD.

My wife is employed in a well known Public Sector bank in India in Officer grade. I have 2 daughters. Elder kid is 4 years old and the younger one will complete 1 year in August. My parents are staying with my wife.

Since I will be earning 1100 CAD p.m August onwards I plan to bring my wife and 2 kids for 4 months until the 1st week of January, 2016. I have around 4k with me right now as well.

Points:

1. My wife would be applying for sabbatical leave for 4 months, and the letter will be stating that she has to retun to India for job and that she cannot be employed here during the sabbatical leave.

Questions
1. What is the procedure for applying for visitor visa?
2. What all documents do i need for applying visitor visa?
3. What are some precautions and points i should look into before applying?
4. Any other considerations or suggestions?

If you fill out this questionnaire answering as if you were your wife, accompanied by your two kids, you will be guided through process of getting a visa. It's pretty straightforward process, and there will be $300 in fees, $100 for each visa that will be issued.

Hi Vinay,

In my opinion, your wife must provide evidence of other 'ties' to India..... and not just her employment situation.... as her *family ties* to Canada would be greater than those to India for the visit.

Also, 4 months may appear to be a long visit..... and thus, your wife's employment ties will appear weak. You may want to consider a visit of a shorter duration.

As the Host: If you will provide accommodation + support travel/living expenses for your wife and two kids during their visit.... then your wife's financial situation (earnings + investments) must be much stronger than yours because CAD 1100 is quite low
