Hello,

Although I searched the forums, I am unable to find the answer. I have submitted my application for my spouse's sponsorship in July,2011, but haven't heard anything yet (looks like step 1 is going to take 60 days..). Could someone please tell if I can apply for a visitor visa for her?

Any guidance will be helpful.

I'm not a genius on this but I'm pretty sure most the times you will get denied a visitor visa, but that could be diff for certain vo offices

Thank you for the quick turnaround, Mrs Proper

Yer welcome, I'm sure if I'm wrong someone will correct me but I'm sure they deny more visitor visas than anything when you are sponsoring

you are correct Mrs.P more times than not they do deny as spouses are known to overstay but that is because they probably don't have enough ties to their home country however you can try and wish for the best

Not sure about others, but my husband was allowed into Canada while we waited for our papers, he had lots of proof he was going to go back when his visa expired and did so. Best of luck!
