Hello everyone :),

I'm here to get some suggestions for my husband's second TRV application.

I have been a Canadian Citizen for 13 years already and lived in Canada since I was 10yrs old.

My husband and I got our marriage certificate in China on November 2014. I had to come back to Canada for work shortly after. He was planning on utilize his one month vacation to visit me and my family in Canada, which is during Chinese New Year season 2015.

His occupation is a high school art teacher, very steady lifestyle. He has $10000 in his account frozen for the application and $5000 more in the bank. He bought an apartment and he owns a car. Till now I still live with my parents and my dad was going to pay for all of his living expense while he is in Canada. My dad is a senior engineer, and provided his land title for his house and his pay stubs. These were all our proof of financial.

I wrote an invitation letter stating how much we miss each other, and promise he will return to China after the one month vacation we planned.

We used an agency to verify his files and the submission of his application. The agency sent us a refuse letter after 3 weeks. On the letter it stated two reasons: 1, your family ties in Canada and your country of residence. 2, your travel history.

He has a brand new passport, he has never been outside of China. We were so shocked with the refused.

This summer I went back to China and we had our wedding ceremony and all my immediate family members attended our wedding. Now we want to apply again for his TRV, I really just want him to visit me a little bit. How can I get the officer to believe that he will not illegally stay in Canada?

Can someone give me advise please???!!!!

Unfortunately it's not that surprising he was refused. He has several things working against him. The first factor is that he's married to you - so it's much more difficult to convince CIC that he has no plans on remaining in Canada long term. (This is why family in Canada was mentioned as a refusal reason. This means he has strong ties to Canada and CIC suspects he wants to live here.) The fact he has never traveled outside of China also works against him. If he had a travel history to other countries requiring visas - it would be easier. (This is why travel history was mentioned as a refusal reason.)

Are you planning to eventually sponsor him for PR? If so, I would start the outland application now. If you apply for the TRV again, I think the results will be the same.

Why don't you get your visa and live with him in China? You realize you can start your outland application while living in China with him?

We are still preparing files and document for his PR, and I heard even for outside family sponsor would take at least a year rightnow. I can't wait that long by myself, and we are thinking if he has a visitor visa at least he can visit me during February and whenever he have summer holidays.

I know I can easily go live in China with him during the mean time, but that would be my last choice.

You can certainly try applying again - however there's an excellent chance it will end the same way. I would focus your efforts on completing and submitting the PR sponsorship application.

If you do want to try applying for a TRV again, you should try to provide even more proof of his ties to his home country.
