Visitor visa for dependants while waiting for AOR

I am on pgwp, expecting to get lmia approval in Jan'25, with which I'll apply for closed wp along with visitor visa for spouse and kid (2yr old). Meanwhile, I am waiting for PNP nomination which will enable me to apply for PR thru non EE for the 3 of us. I am planning to do this process simultaneously. Will this work?

You can certainly try but they are not genuine visitors and want to live with you in Canada it may be very difficult to get approval especially for your spouse. They should really be applying for an SOWP when you apply for your closed WP. Big you have over 6 months left on your PGWP you could also apply for SOW based on your employment while on PGWP. If your child is 4 or older apply for a study permit

Appreciate your response. Pgwp is valid only for 3 more months, so sowp is ruled out. Also IRCC says that if spouse isn't planning to work or study, visitor visa is the way to go. Why is it difficult to get approved?

hi, my open work permit get expired now i am on closed work permit . actually i have trv stamp on my passport which will expire in 2027 but because of family issue i have to go back home for some time. and now for safety i applied new trv stamp for closed work permit.
Do you know how long it will take? or its same processing time as open?
also is it okey to go your home county and come back? pls let me know thanks

Unless they are a genuine visitor and only visiting Canada then TRV is never the best options for a spouse. You can certainly try but we see these cases get rejected all the time.

With the new restrictions being applied for visitor visa approvals I would not get one’s hopes up .
You’re attempting to use a visitor visa as a quasi , let’s get the family to come and stay while you hopefully get nominated .
