Visitor Visa for brother

Hi all . Is it worth applying on the new portal for visitor visa ?
I applied for my brother's visitor visa in April, 2021 . There is no update and it's still under process. It mentions that if we apply on the new portal, the old application is withdrawn. Wanted some inputs regarding this .
Initial application on January 30, 2020 ( rejected )
Reapplied on April , 13th , 2021 - under process
Biometrics already done on Jan30th , 2020 and are valid as of now.

It's the same scenario with my brother's application. Applied for TRV in March 2021. Biometrics submitted on Sept 27th - No update till now. I am a PR here in Canada.

What was the reason your brother's application got denied during Initial application and what did you do in this current new application process? Are you a PR in Canada?

Someone was suggesting to write a request at this link to enquire about already submitted application: https://secure.cic.gc.ca/ClientContact/en/Crisis

I am not an expert around this subject but its better you explore if your case falls under some Crisis.

This is bad advice. This link is only to be used in situations where IRCC has specifically provided this link to the applicant and instructed them to submit a request. More specifically, this process is being used for situations related to Afghanistan where certain travel documents cannot be obtained.

Unknown what the potential consequences may be of submitting a request through this process when one doesn't actually qualify and hasn't been specifically instructed to do so by IRCC.

Yeah, I agree that's why I asked to explore before anything is submitted here. It does not appear to be correct link for our case/ situation here.

Hi Karan,

I previously applied for my spouse's visitor visa (who is currently a resident of India) on May 25th using GC Key. No update till now

I again applied for my spouse's visitor visa in new portal on October 25th.

I would suggest you to reapply again, as many circumstances would have changed from the date of application till today. It's better for IRCC to have latest information on funds available, job status as on today. The new portal is very clear and straightforward. Hope this helps!
