Visitor Visa extension refused. Can they still stay in Canada?

My grandma's visitor visa extension application was refused. Was told we need to apply for a "Restoration of status" within 90 days. But my grandma only wanted to stay in Canada for an additional month. Does she still need to apply fora restoration of status if she is leaving in 25 days?

Yes.... unless you want her to have in her record that she stayed illegally in Canada for a month.
