Hi all,

I wish to extend visitor visa for my mother for 2 months. She was granted a 6 month visa till July 2012 and we wish to extend it to Sep 2012. Do I need to take medical insurance for her? I am on a work permit here.

Can somebody kindly share their experiences with visa extension for parents?

Regards,
Jainesh

Thanks user828. What was your status when you applied for extension? How long were each of your extensions? Appreciate your help on this !

1st time was "permanent resident", 2nd one was 'citizen', each time the ext was for 6 months. But I have heard, some extension are given for 2 years now ( in norms with supervisa )

I like to share some useful information regarding visitor visa for parents.

My Mon applied for regular visa extension last year before Super Visa was announced. Instead of 6 months extension she got 2 years. She went back this year (after year from entry).
Regular extension or Super Visa, both expire once you leave the country.

When she landed again in Canada, CBSA give her remaining time left as visa stamp about till end of 2013, instead of 6 months extension. She never applied for Super Visa, just regular 5 yrs multiple visa 2 yrs back.
