Do you guys think submitting the OWP is good for her too?

So once the inland application received by CIC and in progress of reviewing. Does she still under the implied status or she require to extend her visa ?
You'd know she would have status for a longer duration of time, so you could focus on preparing for a baby. PR application doesn't give her implied status -- only the TRV does. If you are going to submit the OWP, you should include a little note with the package indicating the application number and her UCI to help Vegreville link it to her inland PR.

I just submitted the PR and sponsorship application yesterday. So should I wait until CIC send us the letter first and then apply for OWP?

I did received the letter from Vegreville with attached UCI number for her TRV application already.

It might take 6-8 weeks for CPC-Mississauga to open and input the case into GCMS. They will send you an acknowledgement email (if you included an email address) with the case number.

The name of the game here is, while waiting on an inland application to maintain status. As long as she has some form of status (Visitor, Student, Worker (working or not)) then everything is good.

If it was me, I would wait until CPC-M sends an acknowledgement, then apply for OWP.

The Inland application, alone, does nothing to give her Implied Status; it's the OWP that does.

The OWP approval is almost automatic, based upon submission of the inland application, whereas the visitor extension requires a.) approval and, b.) an extension of ~ 1 year (or more) to cover the ridiculous processing time for an Inland application.

Here's the potential problem:

If the Inland application is returned, because of a missing form(s), missing signature(s), or outdated form(s), it could impact her Implied Status IF the application isn't received (again) by CIC before her status expires.

and/or

The OWP is returned/refused because you did not pay the correct amount ($255, NOT $155). There is an extra $100 Permit Holder Fee (? ? ?) that some people forget to include.

+1 Ponga.

@ethan0080: If you guys end up in that case, you might want to keep this in your back packet: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/resources/tools/temp/visa/validity/restoration.asp

10-4

I have submitted pretty much all the application plus additional information , proof to wish my application went faster.

Will the CIC office consider her pregnancy as a main factor or it will be an overall?

And if my current job (Transportation Engineer with the government) also a main factor for her approval?
Not sure if anyone end up in my case that we are just so lucky that get marry and pregnancy pretty much the same year..

Calgary is a little far for me.. about 2 days drive... ;)

Income isn't considered in spousal applications. So don't worry about that. Pregnancy might be a problem with respect to completing a (re)medical because they cannot xray her. But it won't really hurt or advance your application, I don't think..

What exactly did you apply for? First you say TRP, then TRV. Neither of those grant status in Canada. A TRV is an entry visa that allows a person to board a commercial carrier to travel to Canada. A TRP is special permission for a person who is inadmissible to come to Canada.

You need to apply to extend her visitor status.

No, IRCC will not consider her pregnancy as a factor.

No, your job will not be a factor.

2 days drive...you live in the land of living sky?

Anyways at least she is in implied status waiting for her TRV. I probably apply for OWP once I receive the inland CIC number.

A friend of mine as I know also waiting for her inland application. But she didn't not apply for TRV or OWP... her working hoilday visa is long expired. But she is able to travel around (US, Taiwan). And come back without issue. I wonder why

Southwestern Ontario actually -- bout an hour from Toronto.

Crossing the border is the problem with leaving. If you cannot re-enter for whatever reason, you might have trouble with the application.

hi, i think what canuck is suggesting is that you are a bit confused about what she should be applying for to stay in canada as a visitor. what is your reasoning for applying for a TRP as opposed to simply applying to extend her stay as a visitor while her application processes? these are not one in the same.
