Hello, I'm still in the early stages of the Skilled Worker Federal Permanent Residence process (2 years now). But I want to travel to Toronto in september and visit some friends there. I will only stay less than 2 weeks.

Also I got married after I applied for the Permanent Residence (I was single then and I havent yet been asked to update my information).

Would it cause any impact in my Permanent Residence process if I enter the Canadian territory before my residence is issued?
Should I apply for the temporary resident visa or wait until the whole permanent process is finished?
Anyone had a similar situation?

Thanks a lot,

Hello Polaris,

It´s me. I am not in any way, an expert but I have read that it´s not recommended since they will see this as an opportunity to get into Canada in a faster way. When I say recommended I mean that they will reject you TRV. Do you have the Canadian Visa? If that is the case, things will be much easier I believe.

Wait and see if one of the PROS write any better idea....

Hey SFD, Thanks again.

I figure they would have suspicious for an applicant to ask for a TRV (learning to use the initials :D ). I wonder if someone had actually been granted a TRV and somehow that messed their permanent residence application.

I had been granted a TRV once but it had expired long ago and I'm afraid to apply for it again :(

You can explore dual intent.

Thank you, Job_seeker

I can see the main concern for Canada is mainly the acceptance or not of the TRV. I think I'll apply (I really don't care if they reject it or not) as long as it doesn't mess up my permanent residence process.
