I belive they saw the sticker with barcode normaly when you apply for usa they put barcode sticker outside the passport
So they can scan your passport to get your application visa details easily

Good thing the CIC did not give a 5-year ban to you for misrepresentation. I have read in this forum about people who did not disclose their previous visa refusals and they were denied and ban to apply for Canada visa for 5 years.

Yes - of course they share information. Canada doesn't need a mark on your passport to know your US immigration history.
Failure to declare a previous refusal automatically leads to a refusal of your Canadian visa application. If they wish, CIC can make a call of misrepresentation and also ban you from Canada for 5 years. It's extremely important to answer all questions in the application truthfully.

I don't understand your comment. It doesn't matter if your passport has a mark or not - you still have to declare all refusals. By failing to mention the US refusal, you lied in your visa application to Canada and your Canadian visa application was guaranteed to be refused as well.
