Hi everyone,

I am looking for advice on the new IRCC portal. My friend used the new IRCC portal to apply for her visitor visa instead of GCkey, without checking the eligibility. She has given her biometrics and submitted all the documents as requested in the portal. I wanted to know if this will be a problem for her visa decision? Has anyone been in the same situation? Please advice.

It might.. depends on whether she meets eligibility or not

Just to clarify, her purpose of the visit is not eligible to use the IRCC portal for a visitor visa as she is coming here to visit a friend. But she applied through it without prior knowledge. She should have applied through the GCkey instead. But she is fully vaccinated and is eligible to travel when she gets a visa.

So if she is not eligible to apply via IRCC portal yet she went ahead with it.. that means she might have to select a "not accurate" option to continue with the application. Chances are she might get rejected but who knows.. these are crazy times
 
Good Afternoon, me and my sister got approved today, we are from Dominican Republic, we both are medical students, I am 22 and my sister is 20 years old. Our brother is currently living in Canada with his wife, he has a worker visa and his wife has a student visa.

-We applied on January 8, 2022.
-We got the Biometrics Collection Letter on January 9, 2022
-Date of biometrics enrolment: January 12, 2022
-They started reviewing the eligibility requirements on February 3, 2022,
-We got the Biometric Validity Letter and Original Passport Request on on February 3, 2022, everything at the same time.

Good luck for all of you guys.
