Visit Visa Application (Using the new IRCC Portal)

Hello,
I have applied visitor visa application from India on September 28th using GC key. Here, I'm seeing the new application process through IRCC portal and people are getting approval in few weeks. Do I need to submit a new application through IRCC account or application through GC key (cic) is sufficient. Please advise.

Hi, here is my situation

I applied for my parents visitor visa so they could see my brother in canada whom they havent seen from the last 2 years. I submitted the application on 29th sept 21 via GCKEY and I was unaware of the new portal at that time.

Later on after their biometrics I came to know about the new portal and read that the response has been fast as it gives an option whether this application is for reuniting with an immediate family member. Further read that the previous application would be automatically withdrawn if I go ahead with the new portal.

For reuniting my family, I applied again on the new portal.

Could anyone please share their views regarding my situation? I would be extremely grateful.

My case, maybe useful for some.
Inviter: study permit holder
invitees: spouse and kids
first Application: March 2021, biometrics done, then under processing forever

Resubmit to IRCC portal: 13/9 -> 27/9 passport requested/approved
UCI: use the previous ones in GCKey, after submitting and pay $100/applicant -> automatically recognize biometrics information.
Reason: To unite with an immediate family member who is in Canada temporarily
Finance: around 20k
Explanation letter: Why visit at this time, travel plan in detail + vaccine records

Eligibility: Sept 21
Refusal: Oct 09 (Will not come back due to money, employment, purpose).
Note: I had $18,000 for 1 month visit; I'm gov't employed; purpose was to write an exam in Quebec (asked by the Quebec gov't).


3rd Application: IRCC Portal
Submit: Oct 16
UCI/Biometric updated
Background Check...
CAS Doc: Oct 17 (showing Oct 16 on Doc)

Can anyone apply via new portal for visitors even this person's purpose is to visit Canada ?

Hello people,

I applied for my father in law and mother in law on 03 October 2021, Biometrics requested on 04 October 2021, biometrics given on 05 October 2021. Next day biometrics updated on both application, i can see both information on their application, but my father in laws current status have not changed, still showing "Your action is required" but mother in laws current status changed to "Submitted".
Anyone encountered similar situation?

Visitor Visa has taken so long,i decided to fly with Canada transit visa yesterday on my to USA via YUL ,i have a valid job offer,i gave it to the port of entry staff then they ask me many questions if i want to apply for a work permit here ,i gave them many documents about me and employer then the let me enter .so i cancelled trip to USA.i am from Egypt.

What is waiting time for Biometric submissions in New Delhi VFS ?
I tried online tool by using but it is not showing any slot till whole 2022.

Note : I have not submitted application yet but just wanted to get Idea for Waiting time for Biometric on new delhi

I would like to know how you people are submitting financial documents for both parents through new portal.. because in new portal, you have to submit two different application for both parent and need to submit bank statements. So do i need to submit different bank statement for mother and father ?? Or same for both?? I DO NOT UNDETSTAND
