Hi All,

[I wanted to know if anyone out there would be able to help me with this question:

Can one travel to Canada on a visit visa and eventually find employment and convert to work visa? Is this possible or not at all ? Does the strenght of the passport ( country of origin ) factor in if the conversion is a possibility ? Please help.]

Your passport will make no difference. To be approved for a work visa, you first need to find an employer who is willing to give you a job offer. That employer must then apply for an LMO (labour market opinion). For the LMO to be approved, the employer must prove they advertised the job and were unable to find a Canadian to hire for the role. If the LMO is approved (not all are) you can then apply for a work permit. If your work permit is approved (not all are), you can then start working. Expect it to be anywhere from difficult to impossible to find an employer willing to go through this process. If you do find a willing employer, expect the process to take several months (possibly longer than the duration of your visit visa).
