Whats the number reason would you say is the reason for a visa denial as I was last year june and plan to reapply again?

You were denied for a PR last year? Or are you talking about a visit visa? If the latter, the #1 reason is lack of ties to the home country (e.g. job, home, family). Other reasons include lack of travel history, lack of funds.

It was a visitor's visa and travel history was cited as one of the reasons even though i to be frank, i've not traveled since 2006. This travel was to the US and not to Canada and I am teacher in Jamaica. But what exactly is meant by travel history? I never had any reason to be taking a plane so I found the travel part rather strange as checks would have proven that I was in school and then working. Secondly, exactly you need to show? (car title, proof of loans if you have that tie you to the country because it cant be children as like anything else, you get up and leave them/it) Hit me up on this!!

You are better to ask these questions in the visitor section of this forum. They talk more about visitor visa

There's nothing strange about refusing due to travel history. They want to see that you have a history of travelling to countries that require visas, and that you left when you're supposed to, and didn't break any immigration laws.

I get all of what you are saying but I traveled to a country that required a visa and this was my first time to Canada.Plus how do you explain them not giving a child who never traveled before, a visa. :o but you live n u learn

There are many reasons why a visitor visa might be denied. Each case is different, so just because one person got a visa with similar facts does not mean another person will.

Having a travel history is good: it shows that you have gone to other countries and then have come back. They also want to see proof of ties to your home country. It is true that that is not 100% proof that the person will return, but it helps. So things like: proof of a job; a letter from your boss giving you time off and stating that you are expected back; a lease or mortgage or home ownership; proof of enrollment in school; proof of a child left behind; other family ties; proof of investments and money in the bank; etc. A return ticket with a specific date helps. A plan for what you will be doing in Canada may help.

However, if the applicant has ties to Canada, such as a spouse, all the above may not be enough. In some countries it is very difficult to get a visitor visa. It also depends on the visa officer who is looking at your application.

Because you have already been denied once, make sure you have more proof of ties to Jamaica this time.

My wife's aunt is the one living in Canada; what should the invitation letter entail?
