Dear Fellow members,

Last month, my file was transferred from Buffalo to Los Angeles visa office. Today, I received a letter from them asking for:

Evidence on your [relative name] Canadian residency (lease agreements, a current Notice of Assessment from Revenue Canada, an employment verification letter, and monthly utility bills that show your relative's name and full address in Canada)

Has someone received the same requirement? I submitted my relative's Canadian passport in my full application. Maybe now they want proofs that my relative lives in Canada.

Question: My relative does not have submit all those stated above right? I think any document that will state the name and address in canada will do right?

Thanks,

I have submitted my uncles Passport copies,His Electricity bill and his Income tax proof which shows that he says in canada....all the best laklak

Well these sort of things have been asked in checklist before hand, i don't know abt buffalo but CHC London asks for all these docs with your full docs. and besides copy of passport won't prove the actual residency of person in the country. The docs that CHC has asked for will prove that the person is actually present and working in Canada.

I had also send my borhters passport copy. Got a letter from CHC London to show further evidence that he is in Canada. Ssent them the payslips, credit card copies, phone bills. They need proof that He is your borther, and again, Canadian Passport does not have the names of father/mother. So you have to show additionally birth certificates, previous passports that have parents name, marriage certificates. IF you dont send all of this, they ill simply send you another letter after a couple of months asking these, so better send all of them straight away.

The Buffalo checklist changed in Oct 09, when the new doc requirements such as billing statements were added. They weren't required before Oct 09, at least in Buffalo.

Thanks for all your replies. I sent my full application on July 2009. The Buffalo checklist only require passport copy.

Best Regards,
