Hi guys,

Can anyone help or if you have been in the same situation as me!

I was to pick up our passports - London VO(in person because I droped them in person)on the thurday of 25th August 2011 with our visas issued, however, the day before I got an email from the london embassy saying the visas would not be ready to pick up and that they would let me know when i can go and pick them up. I have not heard back sine now

Is this normal? has it ever happened to anyone of you? any reason to worry.

Please advice,

Kasim

each applicant cases is different.
might be they have issue with printing or internal issue for visa stamping.
it's mostly normal as per your text, otherwise VO informed you the rerason for not stamping your visa on your PP & simply return your PP with written document.

Salaam Kasim,

This is normal, I know a family that the same thing happened to and they got an email a week later to pick the passports up.

Don't worry, inshallah you will get email to pick them up next week.

Hi Guys,

Thnak you very much for all your reponses. I guess I have to wait and see what comes up this week. I guess, since London VOP operates a Thursday only pickup/dropoff system, - it has to be a thursday when they will ask me to go in?
Do you think it could be any other day other than a thursday?

Guys,

I am getting worried. Usually passports delivered by hand never have any delays, however, mine is now 2 weeks delayed. Is this really normal.

Can guys that have had to personally drop their passports to the london VO please help share your experinces?

Thanks

Well, although I haven't heard of this happening before, they do usually issue the visa only within a few days of the date they are to be picked up. For example, when we picked up our visas on 21st July the date on the visa stamp was 19th July.

So they run things pretty close to the wire. Perhaps with the summer holidays they have staff shortages and simply need more time?

They would not have requested the passports if they were not ready to issue your visa - so I don't think it's any major cause for concern, just an annoying delay.
Does your ECAS say "Decision Made"?

Thanks Wayne.

Yeah it says decission made.

I thought i would get the email by today but nothing has come in. This means waiting untill next thursday, which will make it three weeks late.
