i had applied under SPP.. i got admission in geroege brown college....i paid the full fees...i had a non security bank loan for 4 lacs and also had fixed deposits for 3 lacs in my name...my visa got rejected for the following reason.
1.You have not demonstrated that you or your parents have sufficient income and assets to justify your proposed studies.
2.Your proposed studies are not reasonable in light of one or more of: your qualification, previous studies, employment, level of establishment, other educational opportunities available in India or Canada, language abilities, or your future prospects and plans.
can ne one tell me if i re apply with all the documents req will i get the visa.

hey varun,

were you using any consultant for applying for visa if yes than he dont know anything about how to apply under SPP. To apply under SPP You must show loan a minimum of 80% of first year tuition fees + Living cost of one year (approx CAC $8000) that is if your one year tuition fee + living expenses is around Rs. 10 lack you must show atleast 8 lac of educational loan and its big mistake made by you and this explain 1st reason stated by you for your visa rejection.

About the 2nd reason I cannot say much. I dont think you have the gap problem and Wireless networking is related to Electronics and computer engg. and I believe you have the same background or may be its due to language abilities.

I dont know about the second reason but as far as your 1st reason is concerned your visa rejection was confirmed cause you did not follow the SPP guidlines. I am too about to file my case and the cost of my 1 year postgraduate study is 10.5 lacs so I hav taken 8 lacs of educational loan from the bank. My IELTS score is 6.5 with minimum of 5.5 in writing. lets c wats happen.

Oh ! this is really sad. am so sorry to hear this... but its a big point that you missed. the fee + living expenses must be covered under a loan even if you have the money to pay upfront. If thats the case, then you can deposit the money as an FD and take a loan on that.

I would also suggest you to submit an SOP along with your application. This would help you connect your existing qualifications, the course you intend to study, what you plan to do after your studies, how you plan to use your canadian qualifications to secure employment here once you come back. In light of point 2, specify how this canadian course will provide better value addition to you than any of the Indian universities etc. This is important because now almost everything is offered in India.

an SOP is not mandatory but it helps present your case, dont focus too much on convincing anyone that you will come back. Just connect the dots. show them the bigger picture.

Guess you cant apply again under SPP for Fall '10. :(

wish you all the best dude.

I have done 4yr B.tech in Computer Engg. in May 2008 and from last 1 year I am doing any Managerial level job,and it is not related to software development . Now I have got admitted to 1 year PG Diploma in Bioinformatics for Software Professional Program. This program specially only those who have 4 year Bachelors in Computer Engg. I am confused wheather I need to submit SOP with my Visa application and I think that its a Bioinformatics program for software professional please tell me what should I do.

One cannot apply twice under SPP for the same intake so if you re-apply now you need to follow guidelines which are applicable to normal student visa application. That is, now application process will become more complex you need to submit more documents to support your application and need to show more funds and sources of income. Educational loan from a bank is always a helpful for the applicaton. This time carefully follow the guidelines mentioned on http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/study/study-how.asp. This time you need to show more funds and sources of income than SPP and processing can take around a month or more if u apply from chandigarh consulate. If you finding it very complex consult any good education visa consultant market is flooded with these types of consultants these days, Best of luck.

Well, I do think its worthwhile to submit a well drafted SOP along with your application since your education and profession arent really complementary. You could explain how connected your course is, to your current line of work etc. it should help.

@ varun, if you are particular on joining the Fall intake, you will have to go through teh normal route and not SPP. This, as earthlover explained requires a lot more documentation, which could be difficult to arrange in time. Plus it will definitely take more time than SPP apps. so evaluate your situation carefully before making any desperate attempts and getting disppointed again. Any further applications from you will require you to state that you have been denied a visa earlier opening your application to further scrutiny.

Plan carefully and I would advise that you get some help from a good consultant. ask around for a reputed consultant from your friends who have gone to Canada.

Good luck !

Dear Friend,

I have a query,

There are 3 member in my family, me, my wife and child (6 months)

My wife passed 12th standard with science/ maths stream. She want admission in Degree course in Seneca or Centennial for Computer Science Degree.

It is 3 years program.

If my wife get the study permit,
can I and our child accompany with her as dependent visa?
Can I work there in future?
Can I go there and get the Work permit?
Can I work full time there?

The cost of program is 15000$ / year.
Can we pay 1 semester fee?
must we need at least 80% fees from bank as education loan?
must we show annual income or financial sources as I am only earning in my family?

What is the success ratio of study permit with Dependents?

Thanks

Since you have already paid the fees, its really unlikely that they will refund it for you to pay it back again through a bank loan. So I suppose the only option left for you is to apply through the normal process for a Study permit and not the SPP one.

Its nothing impossible, just requires a little more documentation and stuff. get good help and go for it ! Good Luck !

Its realy very unfortunate. But dont loose heart try any other country I think after Canada, New Zealand is best if you want PR after study. after that there are many options like UK, Germany or any where in Europe. I feel that if somone somehow managed to get PR in Europe its better place to live than anywhere in the world. Along with Canada I have also applied for masters degree in Germany and there is no tuition fee for international students its absoulutely free and I feel that Germany is not less in any respect than Canada.
