visa for newborn - mother is PR & father has ICT/Closed work permit approved

Hi Folks,

I am planning to apply for TRV for my newborn but my situation is complicated, my wife is a PR & i have an ICT/Closed work permit approved(so temporary worker). Our baby was born in india last month and we are trying to apply visa for the baby so that we can all travel together to canada. Talked with couple of immigration consultants, some are saying TRV is risky & less chance of getting approved since wife is a PR, some are saying we can apply TRV and you should get it in 1-2 months.

Has anyone been in this scenario and applied for TRV for the baby ? Looking for advice.

You should definitely apply for the TRV. There's certainly a chance it will be approved. No harm in trying.

okay, though all the consultants say they will apply through GC key portal only, i am planning to apply via the new ircc portal since it has better response times.
I think the best option would be to apply TRV with reason as " Visit family member(babys mother) who is a PR" and then for proof of funds we are planning to show my offer of emplyoment with salary and bank account statements.

Do you think this should be sufficient enough for the approval, since i am seeing too many TRV rejections these days.

Approval chances are 50/50 in general for these applications. There's no way to guarantee approval.
