Visa extension?

I received my invitation to apply for residency in September but I need to extend my visa as my visa runs out in October.
Can I apply for a bridging visa with Just an invitation to apply or do I need to extend my visa then apply for a bridging visa once I submit my paper work?

You can't apply for bowp with just an ITA. Extend your current visa or submit PR application before expiry date of your current permit then apply for bowp.
