I have done a search and managed to find some information regarding the Vienna office and processing outland applications, but I just wanted to start a personal, specific thread here.

I have been hearing that with a straight forward sponsorship application (ie. no criminal record, no military service, or anything that would require a long background check), that you can receive your PR while applying outland through Vienna quite quickly (even as little as 5 or 6 months). I just want to see if anyone has actually had that experience. My wife is from Macedonia, and she is currently with me in Canada on a tourist visa. We were going to apply Inland so she could work, but after looking through these forums and getting some more info, it makes no sense to me to go inland since with outland you can get your PR quite fast. Can anyone shed any light on this? Anyone get there PR applying outland through Vienna very quickly?

Thanks!

It is true there have been recent approvals in 6 months. We are also applying outland through Vienna. There is a thread for Vienna applicants here. Also a Vienna spread sheet online. Our app started processing there sept 17th after SA approval in Mississauga.

We applied in March 2015 and although others who applied at the same time us got their approval, we still have not. I made a quick reference sheet for myself and can tell you the following information based on the information I could find on this forum:

The longest time anyone waited for approval in 2015 was 218 days from sending their application to receiving a passport request. However, there are some that have gone past this number and are still waiting for their approval.

The fastest this year was also a Macedonian and it took them 159 days.

I talked to several people regarding applying inland and outland and everyone told me to do it outland because of the shorter wait times. One was a friend who applied inland and said he would never do inland again since it caused him a lot of stress, but in my opinion either way is pretty stressful.

I hope that helps.
