Thanks, it has been a long wait indeed. I see you already got approved a while back and are moving soon. May i ask what company you used to ship your belongings to Canada? And what method did you use to send your passport to Vienna?

I indeed got approved a while back, that was mid April 2018. We are moving to Toronto on Oct 29, and we are already started packing. We haven't picked a company for shipping our belongings, but we will do that soon. We want to ship our stuff end September /beginning October.

For the passport I never got a request (PPR) to sent it to Vienna. (only a pre arrival mail)
I think it had to do with the time period and that The Netherlands doesn't need a Visa. End of January the application was being processed (sent it in Nov 2017), and mid April I was approved and got my COPR.
So a very short time period, compared to alot of other people.

I'm curious if you are going to get a PPR.

Oh, that's strange, so you got DM and a couple days later you received COPR through regular mail? I know The Netherlands doesn't need a visa, but a lot of the stories I read talk about receiving PPR even when from the The Netherlands or Germany for example. I'm kind of hoping they will send me PPR because I just got a new passport so if they issue a COPR right away it will have my old passport number on it.
Depending on when I receive my COPR I also plan to move in October or November this year, but I cant seem to find an affordable way to ship moving boxes with my stuff to Canada, so when you find a good shipping company please let me know us know here.
Where in Canada are you moving to btw?

New update: got COPR in the mail today after i got DM last Saturday, they skipped PPR just like with Erik76, were both from the Netherlands. Anyway unfortunately they didnt update my passport number yet so the COPR is tied to my old passport. I emailed them on Sunday but they havent responded yet.

Congratulations @John013, finally the wait is over. And they skipped the PPR, that's good.
Changing your COPR should not take long, I had to do that too. Mine said single instead of married, took about 1,5 weeks to get a new one.
Sent a email for that, but they never replied, just got a new one.

When I have found a company I will post that here.
We will be moving to Scarborough, close to Toronto.
Where will you be going?

Happy planning

Yeah I imagine it wont take too long to fix, they did reply to my email yesterday saying I should return the COPR and include a copy of my new passport.
Scarborough? I know it all too well. I lived there for a couple of years before I had to go back to the Netherlands. Still have most of my in-laws living there. Its not that bad a place as they make it out to be, not really a dangerous area in my opinion, it was always a place that attracted a lot of newcomers and I have good memories from living there. My wife moved out of Scarborough last year though so now were a little more up north in Richmond Hill.

Wife just picked up her passport today.

We sent in the application February 27, 2018. so 6 months & 10 days in all! Must say that I'm very impressed with IRCC

Good luck to everyone in here in their applications. I wish that all of you be reunited with your loved ones and start your new lives in Canada as successfully and as soon as possible!

Hey guys next week will be 1 year that I have applied, does anyone know why it could be taking this long as I haven’t heard back still

Just wanted to update everyone, this may be a help to anyone after arrival. we landed in canada on 2018/06/13 in Montreal. here is were we went through the processing which took about two hours as there was a fair amount of people ahead so book your tickets accordingly if you do not want to miss your next flight.
questions that were asked were: have you committed any crimes, do you have any children, and do you have money to support yourself. very basic questions.
we were also requested to go on ECAS and enter in our new home address to receive our PR card. which we did the next day.
after about two months we received a email to send in new photos to the PR centre. then on 2018/09/11 it was approved and we received the PR card in the mail.
NOTE: you can view the PR card process by linking it to your already excisting account on GCkey. the PR number will be located on the the documentation you receive when your passport is returned and stamped by Vienna.

good luck to everyone.

Hey guys, quick update:

My wife received Interview Request email on Sep 11 at the Vienna Canadian Embassy. Today, Oct. 2, was her interview and everything went well! The interview took about half an hour. The immigration officer was very welcoming and said he was satisfied and believes our relationship to be truly genuine. He told my wife that she can go back to Serbia and they will email her with further instructions. I’m guessing that means Pre-Arrival and PPR are just around the corner!

In the mean time, I’m going back to Serbia this Saturday to celebrate our wedding anniversary :) Good luck to everyone else!
