They asked me for RCMP police check last month and our lawyer sent it by email so I emailed Vienna the other day if they're working on my application or its in que but they replied saying my application is under review.

And that was a pre made response they send to everyone but I hope they'll approve us soon.
I think they approved almost everyone who applied in January 2015 Outland.

I got worried about our visa status since a couple that applied the same day as us, who got SA approval after us, got their PR two weeks ago yet CIC hasn't even updated our mailing address for which we sent a request in June. They responded with the following:

Dear Sir, Madam,

This replies to your enquiry below concerning your application for a permanent residence.

Please be informed that your application is currently being reviewed by an immigration officer. We regret that we are unable to predict how long exactly this assessment will take.

We will inform you on further processing steps as soon as we are in a position to do so.

Please quote your file number and file category, as it appears in the subject line of this message, in all correspondence with our office.

I feel that this is a generic email they send to anyone who contacts them as they did not answer my question about our address update. Has anyone else received an email with identical wording? We are starting to stress out more so than before as we submitted everything that was requested and have yet to hear anything about our visa

??? do they have less Applications or do they pick some out to send them out?

@Julia123 You can usually get one via your embassy or consulate. It might take longer, be more expensive, etc.

Can Someone please help. I went to my immigration consultant today and she got really mad when I told her that I emailed the Vienna visa office cuz she said that I bugged them and now my case will take longer. It has already been 6 months since my application has been in Vienna and 9 months in total since I applied. Someone please help is this true because I am so depressed right now. I don't know what I am going to do if it takes longer.

If it's "only" been 6 months in Vienna, it is not long enough yet to worry. I know, the wait is long and annoying, and it can be very hard to be patient. But that's the only thing we can do: wait and take our minds off of it. I'm sure your case will show some activity soon!

I also wouldn't worry too much about a single enquiry by e-mail causing delays, plenty of people e-mail them without any negative side-effects. It would be different if you'd send official requests every day of course

I only emailed once. But the weird thing is my brother put his papers in on June 30 and he has been approved to be a sponser and now his papers have been transferred to Vienna. And on cic check status the part where it's about Vienna it says in progress and they started processing on September 28. And it's only been 3 months and mine has been 9 months in total and it still says application recieved. I don't understand. I am so confused and upset and depressed.

Could you tell me how you checked the status of the application? My application is still in Mississauga, My husband is applied on August 20 for me.
Whether you should get a notice from Mississauga or only when the application arrives in Vienna? How long does the process Missisaga???

Hi Kova

You will get an email from them once they look at your file for SA. That will give you information about following your case online. You should be getting it soon. We got ours within two months.

SA = Sponsorship Approval. The official e-mail or letter that tells you that the sponsor has been approved and that your file has been forwarded to the dedicated visa office.
