So now what's next..if sending passport eithin 30 days and they return it within 7 days does this mean that my husband can come right away
?

Congrats valmiri!

Hey hun, from my experience it takes about 5 business days for mail to get to Vienna and another 5 ish to get back sometimes faster. (that's how long it took my grandpa to get his visa put on passport).

Once he get's the passport back, he must come to Canada before the expiry date which usually is 1 year after medicals were done. So Yes!! He'll be able to come literally same/next day after he gets his passport :D Congrats!

Our application status has changed from "Application Received" to "Decision made"! We do not know yet what the decision is, but we hope for the best. :D

I was wondering what happens next? My country does not need a visa, so I assume I don't have to send in my passport? The information on ECAS says that I will be contacted about the decision: does that happen in form of an email or a letter? How long can it take to get it?

I am currently visiting here, but have my return flight soon. But if I get the decision in the next days it would not make a lot of sense to go further than to the US...

Thank you.

Hi all

I am Canadian and sponsoring my German wife and her 16 year old son. We have been married for 10 years and decided to move back to Canada after living 12 years abroad. We have one child together (he already has a Canadian passport) so hopefully our case is quite straightforward. We applied on 13/01/15 and received our AOR on 23/03/15. Our file was transferred to Vienna on 25/03/15. We are moving back to Quebec so needed to apply for a CSQ (which we received last week). We obtained a student visa for my step-son to allow him to attend school in Canada until we get the permanent residency status and my wife is here on a visitor status (valid until September). Hopefully we will get the permanent residency before September. I was looking at the CIC website and was dreading the 16 month delay but this forum is giving me hope that it can actually be quicker.

Take care

Thank you.

They will send you your CoPR by mail with the letter explaining the decision and what to do for landing (if the decision is positive, and usually if they didn't request an interview or additional documents it is). I think it takes a week or two to get the papers, though, because they send it by snail mail...
