I think is standard to ask the applicant to bring the passport for the interview, my husband received a similar letter. You have to provide all the papers prior to the interview and after the interview is done the officer will return all the papers

Does anyone know how long it takes for the Vienna visa office to process an authorization to return to Canada?

Does anyone know if an Interview is different than the "authorization to return to Canada" form and letter plus $400 fee or do they request and Interview, than make you do the form and pay the extra fee of $400 before issuing a COPR?

Something tells me it wouldn't be a two step process, but I could be wrong.

Probably not .. I sent them an email on Jan 21th I asked for the information about our application and they responded the next day .. We received approval from Missisauga on Nov 12th and the app was transfered to Vienna VO on Dec 3rd . ECAS status was changed in the morning and in the afternoon I received an email requesting the passport, the same day..

most people that need authorization to return will be asked to go for an interview to determine if the marriage is legitimate. At the interview you will be asked why you stayed longer and discuss the specific circumstances, in my experience after the interview we were asked to submit a statement explaining the specifics and include proof of payment $400cdn or $280 Euros through bank transfer. What I dont know is how long Vienna takes to process the ARC application

You can go the same way as you went for the interview,

Just make sure that you will go on the days when they issue visas, i think it is mon - fri

They will take your passport early in the morning and tell you to come back in the afternoon.

I don't understand why Vienna would request his passport for Interview April 23. Everything has expired Police and Medical and he owes for $1500 for deportation trip. I'm just worried that Conservatives have hate-on for Roma, they will fail him on a cooked up excuse

I ran though 200 possible questions he might be asked, and we are both on same page. We have all the requested documents, including a certified letter from my Doctor that I have been unable to travel for health reasons.

He's taking a Orangeway train from Budapest early in morning and has map of subway system and of course, what station to get off for his 2 pm appointment. I will let everyone know they out come.

So let me get this straight You had an interview at the Canadian Embassy in Vienna for your family class sponsorship application. The Visa Officer then asked you to fill out a form and give them $400, when did this happen? I did a search on your name and found nothing about this?

Yes Vienna has had our application since Oct 15/13. I am his sponsor and legal rep although not a lawyer. I wrote a letter saying it was 18 months and we had not heard anything. A week later, VO wrote back and now My partner in Budapest, is scheduled for an Interview April 23 in Vienna.
