Hey guys!

Back from Vienna today! We drove last night and arrived at a great hostel (if anyone needs a recommendation :)) around midnight, and went to the embassy first thing this morning to drop off the passport. We went back at 2:30 and picked up the finished visa! Feels so great to have this freedom now :) We need to go to Canada before November 1st, when his medical expires.
Thanks ocanadaguy. Didn't make it to Bratislava as planned :( Maybe next time. I will PM you with the details of the Vienna trip :)

Hi - is there anyone else waiting for PPR from vienna? My spouse's application will be in Vienna shortly, just wanted to see if there is anyone else waiting? Take care

We have been waiting since 2010, the background checks are still in progress and we have no idea when they will be over. its a long and painful process!

natassica do you know why you are stuck in background checks? It takes some time if it's about military service during a war or criminality issues...
Try contacting Vienna for follow up.

Hi Serdj
I have tried that they said it would take up to 18 months now they say its still in progress, supposedly they are checking out my husbands employment,he was not a participant of war, however he worked in the Ministry of Trade during the Milosevic regime, so I dont know why this is war related, but noone can tell us how much longer it will be. Embassy just says we have to wait, the MP says we have to wait, the Minister Of Immigration says its

the Ministers office says they dont deal with immigration just politics and that I should call the CIC they say call VIenna. All in all noone can tell us anything and its frusturating because I have to small kids and its hell being a single parent -when not by choice!

Sorry about the two messages my baby pressed a button:)

Hi Everyone,

I'm from the Berlin thread - all Berlin files have been transferred to Vienna as of April 30, 2012 :o

I'm assuming our applications will now take longer to be processed.

He worked for government and that might be the reason for the delays. Especially if it was during Milosevic's regime... I served in the army during his regime and nato bombings... So with long background checks it took 18 months for us. It was frustrating but it's finally over. Some people are still waiting.
Anyhow you knocked on all doors and the only thing that you can really do is wait. Sad but true...The hardest part is that they don't say anything.
But it will be over one day and each day you are closer :)

Hi all! After a lonnnng sponsorship approval wait, I'm happy to say my spouse's file was transfered to Vienna! No our wait begins...:)

@Maya , welcome to our thread :D
@ Bobbi , it can take from 1 day to few months, will go fast :)

Hi everyone, I´m originally from the Berlin thread, but since that VO is closed now, I´m joining you here.
I have a question about the photos that I sent. Will they return them back? They are originals, and I would really like to have them returned to me. How does Vienna deal with photos?

They will return all the photos and all other material that you sent, like boarding passes... etc)
They will only keep the forms and those passport size photos of yourself.

they returned my photos but kept birth certificates :( , i had to order them again
