@ allia_s
Thank you very much, you probably know exactly how I am feeling right this second.
Do you know, what they are asking for in the COPR? I read copies of all passport pages, and passport pictures. Is this correct? I just want to be prepared, when the BIG letter arrives. HAPPY HAPPY

This is what it looks like.

Dear XXXX,

This refers to your application for permanent residence in Canada. In order to complete the processing of your application you must:

provide this office with a passport for you in order that immigrant visa may be affixed in the passport. There must be a blank page in the passport. The passport must be valid beyond your planned date of arrival in Canada. Passport will normally be returned by registered mail to the mailing address we have in our records. Please allow several weeks for processing.

Please also send a photocopy of the page containing the passport details.

If you wish to have same day service, please come to our office in person on Tuesdays or Thursdays between 08:30 AM and 10:00 AM, and we will try to complete the processing by 3:00 PM.

We request that you comply with these instructions within two months of the date of this letter. Failure to do so may result in the refusal of your application and the closure of your file.

Thank you Serdj977
I am from a visa exempt country, I think i would not have to send in my passport. I guess I have to be patient again, and wait for the letter to arrive.

Everyone have to send passport to VO for visa issuing, or you can take it in person as email says. Being from visa exempt country just means that you don't need visitor visa for entering Canada.

Well, I only received COPR/Confirmation Of Permanent Residence/ and a letter with a note: "Please note that as of Dec. 1, 2011, citizens of visa-exempt countries will not have a Permanent Resident Visa affixed to their passport." So the only thing you have to do after is to land in Canada or cross the border :)

Oh I know that feeling :D Good luck

Haven't heard about that one :) That's even better :D

yes that is new thing for those from visa exempt countries , they just receive COPR by mail, no need going to VO. Congrats tajc!!!!

@tajc, what is your exact timeline, so I can add you to our spreadsheet, for further reference ??

What stages do they have or how they do it I really don't know. Though it is known that one is screened extensively if there's military involvement or criminality issues. Those checks may take some time, 12-18 months or even longer in some cases.

I was in a queue for an interview (learned that from my GCMS notes) and that "queue" lasted for about 8 months. When our application exceeded average processing time we started sending emails.
you will see how they can help and what information they need from you in order to help you. (Your file number, client ID number etc.)
They are usually very well informed about immigration processes and willing to help.

I got my caip notes, nothing in reffer to background except that i see some are done back last year in March.
I found this and have no clue what it means. everything else seems normal.

can someone translate what this is all about and what this means. PLEASE

Looks like my file was sent to Missasauga back in Nov. Interview eligibility PASSED.
It looks like CPP reviewed my file few times last time in Oct.

SUB ACTIVITY/ACTIVITY: ELIGIBILITY
STATUS: PASSED
OFFICE: CPP OTTAWA

This was in October 2011
