you are not alone.I have a friend from another forum who's papers are in Canada and I hope they'll be in Vienna soon

Hi guys, I am going through Vienna as well. We submitted our application in October 2011 and we received AOR from Vienna few days ago. Lucky Rain you are not alone :)

You're not alone :) I'm still here as well Lucky Rain...it's all just starting for me! Application arrived in Missassauga last Friday!

I'm still here too. No news, still waiting for ppr and keeping myself busy :)

It shouldn't be discouraging. Our cases are totally different. Yours will probably be the routine one. :)

My plans changed a little bit. We will get married in Quebec in May.
My question is this: immigration officials at the airport are going to ask me questions about my stay in Canada... Here are the facts - I will be unemployed because I stop working in 2months, my plane ticket has a return date at the end of October (almost 6 months), I will have a few thousand $ with me, which is enough for me to live there for 6 months... BUT -
Is it safe for me to say I decided to quit my job, that I will be getting married to my Canadian boyfriend and intend to stay with him until it's legal for me to stay in Canada (6 months) and intend to file spousal visa application and then return back to my home country... Should I be completely honest? I have no idea and my biggest fear is they might deny me to enter the country or something...
I'm having this questions because every time I went to Canada they asked me if I have a job and when do I return back to work...

Anyway, how is everybody doing?

Say that and you're on the next flight back.
Getting married over there isn't a good idea. You would wait for PR for years.

OK, so I say I took some time off, I'll be sightseeing and spending time with my friends...

Why would I wait for years? Why, is there any difference if we get married here or in Canada? I really don't understand what's the catch.

Yes. Taking some time off, visiting... :)

- There is no difference where you get married. It does make a difference what type of application you chose (inland or outland). Inland takes more time, you have no rights to appeal if denied and you can't leave Canada while in process.
- After you get married you can apply outland and stay in Canada with your husband. Takes less time and you have right to appeal. But If VO invite you to attend interview (if necessary) then you have to go to Vienna.

I think that second option is way better. :)
