Well guys,
I'm sorry to be a bearer of bad news, but we failed.
The officer didn't even bother to look at any of the evidence. Didn't even open the new evidence. It was sitting on his right hand side in that little booth the entire time. Untouched.
Why did he fail us? He blatantly stated that my husband doesn't care enough about me/love me enough, because he didn't RISK coming to visit me without his P.R. card......
then stated that my husband's bosses SURELY won't mind if he was stuck in Europe for a few extra weeks, or however long it would take for Vienna to process a Travel Document for my husband....
are...you...effin...kidding...me......
Funny, how it's CIC's fault that they misinformed him, twice, about that Travel Document, stating that he might get stuck outside Canada, but the visa officer today stated how it's clear as day on the CIC website that people can indeed travel without their PR.
I'm shocked, disgusted, confused, angry, you name it.
We're not gonna take the easy way out and reapply. No. We're taking the VO to court. They can eff off.
Also, the VO checked my hubbys PR application today, and guess what? IT'S STILL MISSING.
I am so tired of being pushed around by bureaucratic jerks.
(fyi, the VO was trying to twist my answer around at one point, which pissed me off. I kindly told him that he misinterpreted what I said and logic/law CANNOT do such a thing, but he was persistent with his misinterpretation. Like a damn broken record.)
I am really sorry to hear this, I thought you had a good case. So if we don't visit our better half's, are cases are nul and void. It seems the VO is becoming more like the IRB the officers are all Conservative appointees. I suspect they don't want failed refugees to ever return, no matter the circumstances and deliberately fail them. I have heard appeals, usually win but can be expensive..

Please keep us up-to-date on your appeal. and Don't let anger control you.

Thanks soucyyy, my wife is with me in Canada at this time visiting until May. We sent them a letter stating this is where she is...but ECAS shows her German parents address. I hope they click in that they should send her COPR here to Canada, but even if it arrives in Germany her parents can forward it to us. Either way we are stoked that the process is almost over for us. Huge thanks to this forum and it's members for all the answers to the questions we had and especially to give us the feeling that we are not alone in the whole Immigration process. :)

Congrats :)
My ECAS showed the correct address, my additional documents showed my correct address. But they sent my COPR to the address of my initial application where I moved away 10 months earlier...

Yes, his demeanor was extremely conservative. I should know, I volunteered for the conservative party for a while, lol. The officer knew this, too.
There have been other failed refugee cases who have won. I feel that rhe officer was more for punishing my husband than me. Only in the end, to add salt to the wound, he mentioned my refugee case for a very brief moment.

Your wife should send a short signed note (Vollmacht) to her parents stating that she allows them to pick up her mail from the Canadian Embassy in Vienna. Either scan the note or take a picture and send it as an email. Her parents can print it in order to show to the post. Otherwise Deutsche Post will not be allowed to hand over the envelope to your wife's parents since Vienna sends the envelope as a registered mail (Einschreiben).

My wife received her COPR at her parents address in Germany this morning. No signature needed, just regular mail. I guess it depends on the circumstances whether they send registered or regular mail. We should have it here in Canada some time next week. :)

Does anyone know how long is the wait for passport request after the interview? My hubby's interview is on the 5th of Feb. Is there a chance for visa to be issued that day or am I dreaming?

Hi, my husband rec'd passport request 2 weeks after interview, but also had re-do medical and police clearance. They don't issued copr same day as they make decision that day. And chances are the ask for re-do's and the visa section is only open from 8:30-10:30 Monday through Thursday
