Ok, so I did the test. My tip to all: study hard (like I did) and do not start too late doing just that! It really is all in the guide. Discover. Canada.

;) Greetings!

anybody in victoria got an oath date yet?

I find it unfair that people in different cities have different timelines for the same kind of straight forward no RQ application. How come it takes 11 months for someone in Missisauga from apply to oath and it takes 12 months for them to just start processing an application (as in my case) when they are all sent to the same office? do they have specific teams working on files from specific provinces?

I was in US a few weeks ago and someone asked if i was a Canadian citizen yet since i had been living in Canada for a while. When i told them i had applied in December of 2010 2 years ago, they were amazed to know it can take that long. I actually hesitated in telling them actual dates i was so ashamed/ embarrassed. Theirs get done in 6 months and thats pretty darn efficient considering their population size compared to ours.

I guess we are becoming the laughing stock of G8 countries when it comes to immigration/ citizenship.

Hi all,

I also applied in Nov 2011. File was transferred to Vancouver and got RQ (no clue why) in Nov 2012. Sent back all the documents to Vancouver office in Dec 2012.. waiting... waiting... as per the citizenship process.. all I can say is we are tax paying donkys in this country.. just work and pay tax.. and let the cic take whatver long it takes.. 21 months.. 36 months.. 48 months... who knows? 36 months to qualify to become a citizen and 48 months to process the application.. best of the G8..

Hello everyone!

Does CIC also schedule oath dates for Victoria (like the test dates) or do all island applicants have to attend their ceremony in beautiful Vancouver? Any info regarding this matter is hugely appreciated.

Have a great Sunday!

Hi to all!!! I'm new to this forum, but I have been following this forum and decided to register... i took my test last year October 18, in Victoria. I havent heard anything since then and phone the CIC call center a week ago and the lady said " they didn't finalized my application yet" and she also told me If I pass it should take shortly and if not it will take 16 months If I am not mistakenly heard what she have told me... But I am pretty sure that I did, And the next day phone again the CIC and said If I past the exam they will only send the invitation to take the oath after 6 months... why the others got thier invitation though they took the test after me. After my test and during my interview I was told that the oath taking will be late january, february or by march... this is so stressfull... I`m in my two years now since i sent my application....

Hi all,

according to this CIC website the next time something takes place in Victoria is not until May:

http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/contact_us/offices/itinerant.asp

The wait continues...

In the meantime - enjoy your weekend!

Awesome....Not that i'm surprised

Makes me think i would have gladly accepted the option to have the test and Oath in Vancouver if that speeds up things. But Alas....

Hopefully this would be the last time i have to deal with CIC ever.

BTW... i was checking the online status today and seemed they have changed the lines where it said the file was transferred to victoria office to some thing else...

Now it says....

Your file was transferred to the BC Itinerant Services office on xxxxx, 2012. The BC Itinerant Services office will contact you if additional information is required. The BC Itinerant Services office will contact you regarding your citizenship test once all the necessary checks on your file are complete.

How about making an effort to actually process the application instead of making things look pretty? ::)

Correct! "Just do it", eh?!!

Had my test more than two months ago and still do not know whether I passed or not.
They could at least inform applicants about their test results.

We applied July 2011, did the test on Sept 2012 and until now, no results yet. I called CIC and was told that i will receive a letter for a hearing with the judge. The agent said it will take 24 months but i dont know if 24 months will start from application or testing. Can somebody put his timeline with the same case pls? Also, i have requested to separate the files of my husband and son so they can take the oath without waiting for my me.

@ Jeleni: Sorry to hear that. Interesting that you did not get invited for your oath in early December when CIC staff conducted tests and ceremonies in Victoria. I had my test on Dec 12 and am still waiting for a result. Perhaps you should call again to clarify your situation with first-hand information. Looks like you failed the exam.
