Dear members,

I was admitted in fall semester 2012 but there had been some tragedy happened with my admission. After getting the study permit and arriving in Canada when I reported to my university, they told me that I have received my Final Acceptance letter in error and that my educational documents are not eligible to continue my studies in the desired programme which was of two years only. They asked me to take admission in 4 years programme which at that point I accepted happily, but after two months I realised that I am not able to arrange funds for 4 years international fees and then I asked university management to return my complete fall semester 2012 fee. Because in these two months I had passed all dead lines for asking the fee refund, it took me more 1 month to convince University people to refund my complete semester fee which at last they did.... because since the beginning of my case it was only their fault to issue me the wrong Final Acceptance letter. But one of the international admissions officer of my university told me that now they will inform immigration department that we have returned this student's fee and she is leaving country in same month.
I left Canada in November 26th and came back to my home country successfully.
Q:My question is now if I have the acceptance letter in hand of the different university or college of different province .... and I want to travel back to Canada to continue my studies in any Post secondary programm in summer intake....will there be any complications for me to re-enter in Canada.. though my both entry visa sticker and study permit are valid till August 2013....I am confused that once the immigration department receive the information from my unversity that they have refunded my fee...what will be the status of my visa in their system right now.... I am scared to travel to Canada that what will happen at the airport ? though I have all documents to proof that I did not over stayed in Canada when I was Idol...I was missing my family that's why I visited them and the admission mistake was not my mistake...
Please suggest..

Dear ms.mech,
Thank you for your help and interest in my case..

I know that ...

Post-secondary student
(You may change your school, program and/or field of study without applying for a new study permit. You do not need to apply for a change to the condition of your study permit, either. You may continue to use your study permit as long as it is valid.
If you are changing your level of study (e.g., bachelor's to master's), you do not need to apply for a change to the condition of your study permit, either. )

Q But my question is since I did not completed any semester , also took the refund from the university and came back. will this information will create problem for me to re - enter in canada because I have heard that immigration people sitting at the port of entry or airports....use to update their data on international student's visa's status on the behalf of the information provided by the concern universities..... so what should I do...please Help...

Why dont you just mail your concern to CHC Delhi? If they say everything is fine, that means they would have updated the system to make sure you have no problems at entry.

Dear Josh21,
Thank you for your reply,
I am afraid that what if there is nothing to be worried about over my visa status ... and by sending CHC any mail I am un neccessarily awaking them to put some speciall attention on my visa status or provoking them to ask to do all those formalities all over again which I have done already when I had applied for the first time...for study permit..

Is there any other way to find out...that will there be any problem at the airport or not....?
Secondly I am also afraid to pay fee to the desired university because universities used to refund fee only when students visa is rejected but in my case I already got both valid entry visa and valid study permit...and if there is some trouble on the airport how will i request to the university to refund my fee ....

I don't think so. Since you did not stay while you were not attending any school there also neither were working. You didn't break any rule.
Legally you are just changing school and during gap of that you were in your home country not canada.

You can go back with new letter. But as josh said. Just once email cic or chc and tell them. They will update you with whatever is right for you. Ofcourse you dont want any trouble later at POE.

Best of luck

Look at this way.

If CHC says everything is fine, then you got nothing to worry about.

IF CHC says there is something wrong, they will be saving you from what your about to walk into. Suppose you have a problem at POE, no one can help you there. Even if you pass POE, you might have some problems later when you seek a study permit extension or visa extension or even a PGWP.

Do you really want to risk all that?

Anyway, there is one other option. You can just mail CIC directly without giving up your case number etc and ask them as a general question.

Either way, dont walk in without mailing them.

Thank you josh21 ... I wish Some one on this forum who has gone through from the same or nearly same experience also share his/her experience that what happened to them when they arrived on the airport... Because no body would want to face deport or voulenteeringly withdrawl type of case...
Also Can you or our other kind fellows tell that what if this time I go for college Acceptance letter... or no I should again go for University admission...because college admission will weakened my case..?

1. TRV & SP valid till August 2013; you can enter Canada. If Immigration ask any question, just answer them.

Has any student's re-entry effected ever .....over the information provided by the university .....is there some kind of example or thread on this forum regarding re-entry?

1. Immigration will ask you questions, provide new LOA, all documentary details, communication with school, phone number contact details of individuals. Be prepared to answer all sort of question. Your SP & TRV allows you to enter Canada. There is nothing like cancellation of TRV or SP unless you are convicted by court, removal/deportation order in place
2. If still in doubt, stay at home.
