Very confused. Nairobi timeline 31 months!! Inland or Outland

@rjessome..if I have it correctly she has spent a total of 3yrs and afew months. The first time she stayed btwn Jan 03 and dec of 05,came to the states for about 3 mnts,went back around apr of 06,came back oct of 06,went back again aug of 09 and stayed untill sept of 2010. I know she cut it real close,she applied for citizenship in feb of 2010,got the acknowlegement letter and the discover Canada book soon after. According to the cic website,they started processing early this year. The status says "in process". I know ours is unusual but our rship has been like a rollercoaster ride.

To qualify for citizenship, she has to have lived in Canada for three of the last four years before applying for citizenship.

scylla is right. She won't get citizenship because she is not eligible. She needs to get back to Canada to apply to sponsor you as PRs must be residing in Canada to be eligible to sponsor.

She is in jeopardy of losing her PR status in Canada. She must reside in Canada for 2 out of every 5 years and the 5 years is rolling. Since 2006, she has only lived in Canada for 17 months. If she gets back in, she better stay put! There is a real possibility that she will be issued a S 44 report (inadmissible due to not meeting residency obligations) upon entry. If that happens, she will be allowed entry but only to attend (and defend) at an inadmissibility hearing.

There are bigger problems here than deciding whether to sponsor inland or outland.

Trapa101, rjessome is right. She had better get out her passports and count up exactly how many days she has been in Canada since June 14, 2006. And get back here quick.
