Guys I am January AOR today exactly 4 months . Now bad news is today my company got shut down from investors and every body got laid off. I worked in this company for 2.8 years and now they are giving me 6 weeks of pay which means technically I will be still employed until July 22nd. Will it effect my file.?
Should I notify CIC even I am still employed until July 22nd .

Please reply

Thanks

Its better to notify, but I dont think it will have a negative impact on ur file as long as ur points do not change.

cheers,
Rrk.

Thats true, i guess your points are determined at the time of application ( ITA , or the latest being AOR). I think losing a job in June 2016 should not affect an application submitted in January 2016, as points are calculated during submission.

are there any official/confirmed information that amount of pints are "frozen" when the eligibility met or something?
Because if it still has an impact - loosing 600 point (from LMIA) of being unemployed is always critical...

If u r an FSW outland i dont think it makes a difference............if u r CEC or with LMIA then it could have impact.

cheers,
Rrk.

I am FSW inland with no LMIA or PNP my score was 455

Thanks and really appreciate your help guys

Wouldn't 6 weeks be July 2nd?

Though it doesn't matter if you are outland. If you are CEC + LMIA, then you would have to inform CIC asap, since it seems without job LMIA would be invalid. In other cases you should inform CIC, but you can wait till last day of your work.

Also if company is paying 6 weeks of pay/layoff bonus, it doesnt mean your last day of work will be July 2nd. If your job stops now i.e. you got lay off today, then your last day of work is today (or whatever written in employment letter, better to check with HR before informing CIC).

It should not matter for FSW.
Just send a CSE to inform them about your employment status update.

I applied as a FSW under Express Entry and had my PNP approved. My company is planning to layoff people as well. In case I get Laid-off, will that impact my application.

Currently, I just submitted by Fingerprints and background check is in progress

Have you applied for your GCMS note? If yes did it show you've met eligibility? if not, you can try apply for it before you tell them anything. Or better still get in touch with your company HR and ask if CIC has called them cos I don't think they do company check twice. In all honesty, I don't think it should affect. Everyone knows how the economy is right now and your aint a determinant of your company folding up.

If it shows eligibility met then does it imply that company check and exp check are over?

if you are FSW - you might have shown proof of funds, make sure you maintain those funds till you do landing, since you are already here in Canada most probably you will do flag pole landing.

Current layoff will not have adverse effect on your application as you are FSW. Technically speaking one should inform IRCC (formerly CIC) as soon as there is a change in his/her situation.

Get in touch with the HR department and find out if there will someone available to answer calls or emails from IRCC for employment verification.

I believe so, because what eligibility met implies is that they have checked the experience and job you claim to have and convinced that they add up. However, I may be wrong, hopefully some seniors can shed light on this

I believe you are on a good stand. But if you feel like filing a CSE to feel comfortable, you can go ahead and do so. One thing I know about Immigration officers is that they like people that come out plain and honest.
