Does your oath invite state something about bringing your friends/family? If yes, what does it state?
No, noting mentioned in the letter.
But should be open to public, there is still no ceremony date for Aug. 14 in their web site. :-\

Don't worry, it would either update next week or it might not.

Is your oath scheduled for 8 am?

When my friend took oath in May 2015, his oath ceremony's date was present on the website but not the time though. I think his oath was 8 am in the morning however the website showed a different oath that was scheduled for 10:30 am batch.

I just took the oath and am officially a proud citizen of Canada! To answer the question, as yyzhuang said, there appears to be no restriction on people coming to the ceremony. My partner was not asked for any ID and others brought multiple people.

On that note, thanks to everyone in the forum, it is always nice to have a group of people to communicate with who are going through the same situation. Special thanks to thecoolguysam for keeping the Vancouver up to date!

Hi Sam,
I received a letter from CIC today stating that Aug 22, 2015 event has been cancelled - Do not attend. A new event invitation will be mailed to me in the future. So, I am back to square one. I will have to wait for my third oath ceremony invitation to attend!.

Regards,

I am sorry to know that your 2nd oath has been cancelled and awaiting reschedule. It seems to be that cic has cancelled mostly all ceremonies being held on Saturdays.

Did you receive an email or a physical mail? What tine your oath was scheduled for?

Hopefully the reschedule happens quickly.

I am sorry to know that. Hopefully you would be rescheduled soon. It seems to be CIC has cancelled few oaths those were scheduled on Saturdays.

For the people whose oath have been cancelled have following situation:
1. Oath was scheduled for either 8 am or 10 am
2. Oath was scheduled on Saturday.

If that is the case mentioned above then I think oath has been cancelled for Saturdays( 8 am and 10 am batch only)

As CIC website still has oath scheduled for 8th, 15th & 22nd August (Saturdays) for 1:30 pm, I think the oath is still happening for them.

What I have seen here in the forum is that if the letter sent by cic for oath states 8 am, 10 am and 1 pm then the cic's oath scheduling website will state 8:30 am, 10:30 am and 1:30 pm respectively.

Is there someone whose oath is scheduled for Saturdays for 1:30 pm for the month of August?

Hi Sam,
I receieved a mailer from CIC yesterday with a large yellow block / sticker in the middle of the letter stating that the event has been cancelled. My ceremony was at 1:00 PM, on Aug 22nd. I hope CIC reschedules it to a date before rather than later. In my case, the delay has been already been more than 2 months (June 12th to Aug 22nd to ?).

I feel sorry for others as well, whose oath ceremony have been cancelled. The wait is frustating. Thanks.

Don't worry you would be rescheduled soon. As your oath was for 1 pm on Saturday, it means that CIC has cancelled most oaths those were scheduled during Saturdays in August.
By the way did they specify the reason for cancellation in the letter?
When was the letter dated?
