yes, after reading posts by many people in this forum in regards to the oath letters, the oath letters will usually state oath invite for 8 am, 10 am, 1 pm however on cic's website it will state 8:30 am, 10:30 am, 1:30 pm respectively.

I think CIC wants to give everyone buffer of extra time so that people can show up early.

I must say, I don't understand how CIC does things. This is not a well-organized process. I did my test back on April 2nd and my status changed to "Decision Made" weeks, if not over a month, ago. I haven't heard received ANYTHING about an oath ceremony, and yet many people who both submitted their applications and did their tests after me are already either done with their oath ceremonies or scheduled for them. I never received an RQ or anything like that, so I can't understand what the delay is for, and there's no mechanism for contacting the Vancouver office to make sure they haven't misplaced my file. All that the call agents in the national office will tell you is that "it takes 24 months to process an application." They don't even have up to date information, so they are of zero use to current applicants.

Is anyone else who did their tests on or before April 2nd still waiting for an oath invitation?

Old rules, new fee (I sent it on December 30 and found that "next day" FedEx service to Sydney, NS meant "two days", a fact that cost me an extra $230 for the new fee).

I understand now.

Sorry, I got confused about the dates( I was confused between new fees and new rule). I was thinking that the new rule got applied in January 1st 2015 however, it actually got applied on 11th June 2015. On January 1st 2015, CIC increased the fee instead.

So did CIC return your application asking for new fees or you paid $630 on 30th December?

When I realized (as soon as I printed the FedEx label) that it wouldn't arrive until January 2, I went back to the website and paid an additional $275 (the closest I could get to the actual amount due without being short) as I know CIC will return it if the fee isn't paid. They actually refunded the $45 overpayment in June (back to my credit card). Thus, I paid $675 up front. Had I realized it would take two days for "next day" to Sydney, I'd have done my application for the 29th - everything was dated the day I sent it, as I'd been working on the paperwork for about a month (I travel quite a bit for work).

Thanks. To be honest, this process has moved far more quickly than I'd envisioned. I'd been preparing for an RQ, as my application is short of physical presence by more than 200 days. I decided to file anyway, under the old rules, because under the new rules I am not eligible to apply until approximately mid-2018.

Of course, I'm fully aware that I may still receive a residency questionnaire and go through review with a Citizenship Judge, so that oath might be quite some time off. I'm trying to remain cautiously optimistic.

Have you considered submitting a Privacy Act request? That will give you information on what's been done on your file, including any correspondence that's been sent out.
