I got my letter for the test last week. My test will be on June 26th.
the problem is I don't have my passport with me because I sent it for renewal to Philippine Consulate
and I will get it back after 2 months with the new one. (August)
I need it renewed because I will attend a wedding in the USA on September.

Will this cause a delay on my application?

I see some people here after passing the test they got their oath taking after 2 weeks-1 month.

My timing kinda sucks... :( :(

Hi Pie,

You can show your receipt, or any paper showing it is for renewal.

I am sure they will accept your explanation, have you photocopied every page of it?

They need it though to confirm the entry and exit dates you mentioned on your application.

Good luck on you exam!

@charmed10-2013

Please don't forget to post up your interview experience next tuesday, as you know we're only one day apart. :)

Hi guys

I am applying for citizenship from Vancouver. I have a question: I have traveled often in last 4 years, and had been travelling usually to home, flight would leave canada on 10th of April (Thursday) and reach Islamabad 12th of April(Saturday), should I put exit date as 10th or 12th?

Thanks

Hello Vancouver,

I got the letter for the test last week. however, there is a HUGE gap between when the letter has been issued and the time my test is scheduled for ! I noticed, usually the test is scheduled 2 or 3 weeks after the letter has been sent !
any thoughts !?

"We sent you a notice on June 9, 2014 to appear and write the citizenship test on July 30, 2014 at 8:02 AM. The notice you will receive by mail will be your official confirmation of your appointment. If you have not received this notice prior to the date of your scheduled appointment, please contact us"

Cheers,

I have the receipt for the renewal and I will show the appointment letter
I only have a photocopy of the bio page :(
I only left 8 days total since i arrived here on July 2010
my residency is over 1400 days (til June 26 test)
I wrote a letter stating the only 8 days I was not here in Canada
I am worried that this may cause a delay. :'(

i suggest to gather all your air tickets/hotel bookings for those 8 days outside canada.

show employment letters, T4 or NOA, if you have CBSA, that would be great.

we arrived same month and year here in Canada :) July 2010. But I was outside Canada for a total of 20 days.

When did you apply?

Don't worry too much, what we can do now is gather as much documents as we can, to prove of our physical presence here.

Hi charmed, thanks for replying

I applied on July 2013 and was returned because of that language test as I don't have a photocopy of my IELTS (bummer) so I have to do a CELPIP here, I returned my application on October I think hehe I can't remember...
got the book on January 2014, and the test letter last week.

Good luck to you! I read some people here after the test they get their oath taking after 2wks-1month, that's fast!

Just back from the test, Office mentioned that i passed ( no score details ).

Interview went smooth.

Congrats Vias!

Did they go through each and every page of your passport?

What documents requested during interview?

Did they tell you when to expect notice for oath?

Thanks
