Validity of Passport

Hi ,

I am sending in my application to Ontario in the next week as I got the PT Notification. It says the passport should be valid for two years prior to you sending it in and two years after you apply.

My passport is expiring July 2017 - Would this be an issue? Should I attempt renewing my passport when I send in my application? It will take minimum of 8 weeks .

Please let me know if anyone has ran into this problem before.

If they say "the passport should be valid for two years prior to you sending it in and two years after you apply." - you must apply to renew your passport.

On the same boat here, so would like to read what others have faced. My passport will expire in September 2016. I have already created my EE profile with this passport. I am planning to get a new passport in 2016. My questions are:

Can I update that info in my EE when I receive the new PP?
Or..
if EE is locked ( hopeful wish of an ITA ), will I be able to update the new PP info through email (in case of PNP) or CSE (in case of CIC)?

Been already in the same position.

OINP advised me to apply for renewal of passport and attach the copy of receipt for renewal with your application and also copies of current passport.

Yes you can edit your EE profile. If your passport comes after your receive ITA then you can attach pdf of old and new passport both and write a LOE.

If you have already submitted for PR application then you may send a CSE

Seems I need to apply for the new Passport anyway, so.. the sooner, the better.

Thank you, I have made copies of my old passport but now I will apply for passport renewal this coming week.
