The day finally came after 11 months of waiting. Got home from work and received my letter from CIC approving the sponsorship of my husband and his approval in principal of PR. The best Valentine's Day gift ever.

Congrats!!!!!

Thank you Made In Canada. I would also like to say thanks to all of the people on this forum who have been supportive and helpful to me during this very stressful process. I have learned a great deal from this forum and have met some very good people. I wish everybody the very best with their applications.

Congrats! Hope the rest goes through quickly :)

Congrats! So they gave AIP without interview? Did you send them additional proof?

Yes. When I found out the file was being transferred I sent updated information and supportive documentation to the local office. Also, sent in pictures of places we went over the months since the application went in. Additionally sent an overview of the relationship, why we wanted to be together and not living a long distance relationship, why we chose Canada and not Australia, what interests we have in common. How alike our families are. This was two large envelopes full of documentation along with letters from friends, family, colleagues, one physician and one manager. At one point I felt I overdid it but it looks like I didn't.

That's awesome. Congrats on your AIP. I was worrying too much about file transfers especially in Calgary where it takes 2 years for an interview. I guess if the relationship is genuine then we have nothing to worry about. :)

Congratulations! Where is your local office? :) you are lucky!

My local office is Hamilton, Ontario. The file was transferred in October and Hamilton has a 4-6 month wait. It was 4 months almost exactly to the day.

I wonder if they will process your 2nd stage in Ontario or back in Vegreville...

It is being processed in Hamilton.

congrats kiwi :)

Thank you LuckyJinx. I appreciate your blessing and willingness to share your experience in this process. The one thing I have learned from this process is that I will never take anything for granted. I have never been this happy in my life.
