I applied for both PR and RTD. and i am looking for C-1/D USA visa.
You can certainly try applying now. It can be more difficult to get another US visa approved in cases where an individual entered Canada from the US at an unofficial crossing.

You can definitely try applying and see what happens. You'll want to provide evidence of ties to Canada.

If this application ends in refusal, then wait until you have PR and have established additional ties to Canada before reapplying.

Good luck.

You know my concern is about me entering in an official port of entry not about my tie to Canada. Do you know someone who passed same situation?

As long as you can get the right US visa approved, there should be no issue entering the US. Make sure you apply for the right visa based on the intended purpose for your travel to or through the US.

Yes, there are some discussions in this section of the forum related to applying for a US visa after a refugee claim. I think most of these are probably dealing with B1/B2 visas however. Some people have been successful and some haven't.

Canada and the US share immigration information. The US will know when you left and the fact you made a refugee claim here.

Look for discussions that have the topic "US visa" or something like that. You may have to go back several pages to find them.

Don't worry. As Scylla mentioned, you can try now and see if you get approved. If not, you’ll have a good chance with PR. I was on an F1 student visa as well and came to Canada illegally via Roxham Road. My B1/B2 visa was approved on the second attempt. The first attempt was with an A** Hol* officer who refused it, but I applied again after two months and ended up in the queue with the same officer. He couldn’t take my interview because he had previously refused me, so I went to another counter, and it was approved. I also traveled to the U.S. on that visa in September 2023 and was very worried, but nobody seemed to care at all—the immigration process was incredibly smooth.

At which consulate did you apply for your visa? I’m not applying for a visa but wanted to know. Mine got refused at the Ottawa Embassy

Good to see your post, I also came through roxham road and got protected person status now planning to apply for us visit visa, I want to ask about i95 form, in My case it still shows I was landed at NY airport and not updated after that, will it affect my us visa approval chances once I apply for visit visa? your response would be highly appreciated. Thanks

Nope, there's nothing to worry about, as they get the information right after we crossed into Canada and claimed asylum. I know this because I was a student in the States, and my university was sending me emails about missing classes, then sent me an email saying they knew I had violated my F1 visa and left the U.S.
