hi all so to make my story brief I am the sponsor I am a 33 year old home business owner that does well.
I met my husband in 2015 while in Italy. Only been marred a short while and applied and our process was so fast. While prepping him for his move from the UK I payed for all of our travel back and forth his and mine and all other costs, he claimed he just wasn't able to contribute. He never payed a dime. He has never really contributed much to our relationship except for betrayal. I have been told from numerous people he has used me for a business marriage have messages from his friends and his ex women. There has been both mental and domestic abuse. 6 months ago my GF came over and saw the state he had me in after a physical encounter (many hospital visits) and how he denies his actions and called the police so now there are charges and court.many charges. I still hoped we could work on the marriage (obvious denial here) he is playing the victim and blames me for his behavior. Pretty sure this was the plan all along to move here and have a better life looking back there were a lot of clear signs and being in love I ignored them all.
Anyone had a similar experience? I truly need help. We have not lived together under the same roof as a married couple since he became a PR for more than a month. He has his own place now, new address. What are my options? I don't think its fair this man gets a fresh start after beating me.
The situation is scary to say the least. Any advice is welcomed.

I have heard of cases reported with cases of domestic abuse and proof of fraud that have one anyone have experience?

He has his own place now, new address which goes against the 2 year rule. Doesn't even have a PR card as yet. What are my options? Sorry for what you're going through.

If the 2 year rule you're referring to is the conditional PR, it was eliminated last year and is no longer relevant: https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/news/notices/elminating-conditional-pr.html

I don't believe there is much you can do other than get away from the individual and report it to CIC, but they may not do anything.

If you want to get his PR status revoked, you will need to prove that he committed marriage fraud and report him to CIC:

http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/helpcentre/answer.asp?qnum=1207&top=31

It will be up to CIC if they investigate him or not and if so, what the outcomes of that investigation will be.

FYI - 2 year rule no longer exists. It was revoked a while ago.

I called an immigration lawyer and divorce lawyer. Based on my situation and all my proof looks like I will be ok and he will not. Sometimes good people do win. The process has been started.
