Hello!

I am wondering if there is a possible and/or expected National Identity Document for citizens of the United States (for for IMM0008).
I know passport cards have a date of issue and expiry, and a different document number than a passport, so we are thinking this could be used.
I just don't want to add extra information that might not be searchable and therefore will cause hold ups for processing, but I also don't want to leave it out if it is expected to be included if it is a document that IS issued.
I also had the thought that the SSN could go here, but it has no expiration date so I am thinking this is incorrect.

Looking for anyone's successful experiences with this section when the principal applicant is American.

Thanks in advance!
Stephanie.

The country specific requirements for the United States of America state that there's not a national identity card for that country.
Here's the link so you can check it out yourself: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/applications/spouse.asp#country

It says there clearly that there you can check the guide for instructions for documents such as national identity cards, family booklets, etc. There are no instructions for U.S.A so it means the PA in this case doesn't have a national identity card.

Hope I've been helpful, although I'm not from the U.S. The specific requirements for my country don't mention a national identity card either, so we are okay
