Hello,
Sorry, I'm pulling this up to ask a related question.
In the online application, there is no question about applicant's resident status, so how do they know if you are a PR holder or not?

They will request for your status in Canada on the day of interview. Your PR card is what they will use to determine if you will get the 10 years visitors visa.

Hey,

Congrates.

I am a newbie to this forum.

I am a person of Indian origin got my Canadian PR in March 2015, Landed in Toronto in June 2015.
Since my landing I did 1 month job in BMO and then few odd survival jobs.

And then I got my fulltime job of my own background in Jan 2016. So its basically about 4 months.
I dont have any blood relatives in Canada but just my community people who are in Canada and know me for couple of years.

I am confused should I wait for more time to apply for USA tourist visa or wait for some more time.

Any help would be appreciated considering I have decent job and am single.

Thx

God bless all.

You can go ahead and apply as soon as you have Full time job letter from your employer. That way you have reason to come back as your connection to Canada is stronger.

Yeah, generally landed immigrant get @ least 10yrs US visa it due to the fact that you now a PR holder. Most of the PR holder I know all got 10yrs visa.

May I know what consulate you toke your appointment with ? Plaining to go for mine also next month.

Even you are not PR yet you can get a 10years USA visa of multiple entry.. it depends on your job and life situation and valid reasons of your application for USA Visa. I got my USA visit visa when I was TFW for only one 1year in Canada. got 10 years. most of my friends too. They are giving 10years to most all nowadays.

Not really, the length of validity and number of entries still depend on your country's reciprocity with the US, if you apply before being a Canadian PR.

Hi guys , this topic contradicts with all what i red before about the validity of usa visitor visa !!!

back at my country i usually got only 1 year visa to states , but many told me even if i apply as a canadian Pr , i still would be limited to the one year visa because of my country passport .

thanks

It really depends on the country of citizenship. I guess some are given the privilege of a 10-year visa with Canadian PR status, but there are also some instances where Canadian PR status does not matter.

hmmm , thats really messed up !! it should either be for all Pr or they go by origional passport .

it seems that getting a 10 year multiple entry is a rare thing and the norm is getting the same thing you got back home
